elho has partnered with Coffee Based to transform wasted coffee grounds into stylish plant pots.

It is estimated that approximately six million tonnes of coffee is produced in Europe every year, yet only a small proportion of the beans actually end up in the cup. The rest is discarded as household waste, which is often burned, in turn creating CO2 emissions.

That’s where elho comes in! Each pot in the new collection contains at least three cups of coffee waste, giving the grounds a new lease of life and helping to reduce greenhouse gases. The range isn’t just beneficial to the environment – using this waste material gives the pots a rich, dark espresso colour and unique texture. It’s even possible to detect the light fragrance of a fresh cup of coffee!
