ArtDayME: Kutubna Cultural Center, Dubai’s newest independent bookstore and cultural center presents “Women in Contemporary Arab Art”.
This exhibition presents 35 evocative works by some of the Arab world’s most visionary modern and contemporary artists - a celebration of womanhood in all its complexity, dignity, and beauty. The works are selected from the private collection of International House Group, collected over a period of 25 years.
Spanning from 1945 to 2011, the artworks trace an evolving visual language used to portray women—at times idealized or symbolic, contemplative or expressive, always deeply human.
The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, and mixed media by renowned artists such as Ismail Fattah, Najat Makki, Khaled Al Jader, Louay Kayali, and Salah Taher.
Here, women are represented in a variety of social roles, as mothers, workers, individuals, and icons, embodied across generations of Arab artistic expression.
The exhibition continues until May 18, 2
