The romantic 2AA Rosette Josephine restaurant, at medieval Langley Castle Hotel in Langley-on-Tyne, Northumberland, named after one of the castle's former owners, Josephine d'Echarvines. Another part of the castle reminding us of this remarkable woman is the Chapel on Langley's battlements, which was consecrated after Josephine travelled to Rome to gain the special permission of Pope Leo XIII. This can be visited as part of Langley's daily Battlements Tour.
