Eames Style EA117 Office Chair

Before the EA117, office chairs had cushions – like most traditional furniture. But this chair created a whole new way of thinking, by stretching the cover over an ergonomic aluminium frame.

Instead of sitting inside the structure, the cover becomes load-bearing and – here is the genius part – adapts to the shape of whoever is sitting in it, providing comfort without bulk.
