FORESTIS, the five-star luxury mountain retreat, has announced the completion of the new FORESTIS Villa available only for exclusive hire in 2025.
The secluded retreat is located just metres from FORESTIS on the southern slope of the Plose mountain, 1800 metres above sea level. Offering absolute privacy with a tailored approach to service, the villa can host up to ten guests and is complete with its own spa and wine cellar, also with a private chef and personal concierge at guests’ disposal.
Originally built as a doctor’s residence in 1912 but left unused for decades, FORESTIS owners Teresa and Stefan Hinteregger together with architect Armin Sader, aimed to restore the historical building to its original character. Now, it stands proudly as a private hideaway that exudes sustainable luxury, simplistic solitude and historical charm.
All the structural elements including beams, floors, furniture, windows and doors were restored or faithfully recreated by hand. With its carved ornaments, large loggias, stone plinth and wooden façades, the villa pays homage to the tradition of Alpine villa architecture influenced by European Art Nouveau.
Offering breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, the villa follows the same minimalist, biophilic design principles as FORESTIS. The natural materials including wood from the forest, regional stone, glass, sand and lime plaster - the elements used to build the house a century before - are complemented by its nature-inspired interiors and warm colour palette.
A generous 1,200 m² of living space is spread over three floors with a cosy living room fitted with a feature fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, cinema room and event room for intimate celebrations. There are five elegantly designed bedrooms each with individually crafted en-suite bedrooms, whilst the stone cellar houses the sophisticated wine cellar.
Like FORESTIS, the 400m² spa is inspired by the natural teachings of the Celtic druids, also with expansive views of mountain vistas. It features a spa suite for two, rain shower, Finnish sauna and steam bath, a relaxation room with a fireplace, a large heated indoor-outdoor pool and a fitness room with Technogym equipment.
Surrounding the FORESTIS Villa is a generous garden area fitted with an outdoor kitchen, pergola and herb garden, with a fireplace and lounge area for warm evening gatherings.
The opening of the FORESTIS Villa is the second announcement in a series of extensive renovation projects, including a new wine cellar, garden restaurant and spa treatment rooms.

About the FORESTIS Villa
The FORESTIS Villa is a private retreat just a few metres from FORESTIS. Like the Hideaway's historic house, the villa was built in 1912 according to plans by architect Otto Wagner. It was originally intended as a residence for the doctor of the planned sanatorium but was never used as such. In 2022, the owners of FORESTIS, Teresa and Stefan Hinteregger, decided to bring the villa back to life. The plans by South Tyrolean FORESTIS architect Armin Sader included monument protection and nature conservation to give the history of the house and the location the appreciation they deserve.
With its carved ornaments, large loggias, stone plinth and wooden façades, the villa is in the tradition of Alpine villa architecture influenced by European Art Nouveau. The extensive restoration work on the building, which had been unused for decades, was aimed at restoring its original character. In collaboration with conservationists and restorers from a wide range of trades, all the villa's structural elements, beams, floors, furniture, windows and doors were restored or faithfully recreated by hand in accordance with the production methods of the time, based on the villa's construction plans from the early 20th century. The bathrooms and spa complement the historic interior, with their linear design, high-quality materials and warm colours blending in with the villa's concept. Sunlight floods the villa from morning to night and the view of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites is breathtaking. The forest lies protectively behind the villa and provides clean air and a pleasant climate.
After careful restoration of the historic structure, the newly designed villa now serves as a private retreat for up to ten people. 1,200 m² of living space is spread over three floors and a spacious spa. On the ground floor there is a living room with fireplace, kitchen, breakfast room and dining room. On the first floor are the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room, as well as two further bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and one floor up there are two more bedrooms with their own bathrooms and a room with a private cinema. The stone cellar of the historic villa houses a wine and bacon cellar as well as a room for private celebrations.
Like the FORESTIS spa, the villa's spa is also inspired by the natural teachings of the Celtic druids and features a spa suite for two, rain shower, sauna and steam bath, a relaxation room with fireplace, a large heated indoor-outdoor pool and a fitness room with Technogym equipment.
The villa can only be booked exclusively and offers guests complete privacy during their stay. Guests have a private chef and concierge at their disposal.
