Virgin Radio UK presenter Ryan Tubridy to interview a host of stars at Chris Evans’ CarFest presented by bp pulse 2024

Returning for its 13th year with a stellar line up of stars across the festival including James May, Rob Brydon, Shirley Ballas, Damian Lewis, Angela Hartnett, James Lance, Dr Rangan Chatterjee and The Happy Pear, amongst other glittering names joining for a weekend of incredible entertainment

Virgin Radio UK broadcaster Ryan Tubridy joins a star studded line up to host the much loved Authors Stage alongside bestselling author Bryony Gordon, with interviews also on The StarFest Stage Crafted By Mazda on 23rd-25th August at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire.

These fascinating and in depth conversations from the world of books, TV and space will see Ryan interviewing best-selling children’s author Ben Miller, astronaut Tim Peake, Hollywood actor Tom Ellis, No. 1 Sunday Times, Irish Times and New York Times best-selling author Lucy Foley, author of 23 best-selling novels Adele Parks MBE and queen of chick lit and romantic comedy fiction Jenny Colgan.

Beyond the activities, CarFest also boasts a star-studded music line-up, sure to get everyone from parents to kids queuing to get on the dancefloor. Guests can rock and roll like never before, as the stage will be set on fire with the legendary talents of former Verve lead singer Richard Ashcroft; lead singer of Scissor Sisters Jake Shears; and guitar virtuoso Johnny Marr of The Smiths. The exciting line-up also includes X Factor icon Olly Murs; Eurovision heavyweight Sam Ryder; queen of British soul Beverley Knight; iconic multi-million selling band Deacon Blue, reggae pop fusion pioneers UB40 ft Ali Campbell, pop rock legends Scouting for Girls, and many more.

Following the triumphant success of last year, CarFest presented by bp pulse showcases seven festivals in one: AdventureFest, FoodFest, KidsFest, RetroFest, StarFest, SpaFest, and, of course, CarFest! Whether you're keen to explore new talent or hear from your favourite celebrities, it promises something for everyone.

With Virgin Radio UK as the official media partner for CarFest, listeners can expect the usual mix of fantastic music and guest interviews on both Chris Evans and Ryan’s weekday morning shows. Both will be sprinkled with a little bit of extra stardust as they present their shows live from CarFest on Friday 23rd August.

Founded by radio presenter Chris Evans, CarFest presented by bp pulse enters its 13th year this August, and vows to be the best edition yet, packed with activities and attractions for the whole family. Since its inception in 2012, the charity’s core mission has been to raise funds for UK children's charities, and over the years, the festival has amassed millions for its partners. In 2024, CarFest presented by bp pulse will be supporting BBC Children in Need, Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, My Black Dog, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Teenage Cancer Trust, Young Epilepsy, and the local Hampshire-based charity Naomi House & Jacksplace.

CarFest is the brainchild of presenter Chris Evans. Taking place at Laverstoke Park Farm, the festival features an incredible combination of cars, food, live music and family entertainment. Launched in 2012, the weekend-long festival was created to raise funds for UK children’s charities. Since its inception, the festival has raised over £25 million for its charity partners. CarFest is run by CarFest Management Ltd on behalf of Chris Evans.

Fundraising details: All profits from CarFest, including a percentage of the price of each ticket, will be donated to UK children’s charities.

●     BBC Children in Need (a charity registered in England and Wales under number 802052 and in Scotland under number SC039557) will receive 50% of the total funds raised.

●     The following six charities will each receive 7% of the total funds raised:

●     Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust (Registered Charity No.1096491 in England & Wales and SCO44013 in Scotland)

●     My Black Dog (Registered Charity No.1182690 in England & Wales)

●     Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity (Registered Charity No. 1070532)

●     Starlight Children’s Foundation (Registered Charity No.1062559 in England & Wales and SC039757 in Scotland)

●     Teenage Cancer Trust (Registered Charity No.1062559 in England & Wales and SC039757)

●     Young Epilepsy (Registered Charity No. Charity 311877 in England & Wales).

●     Local Hampshire based hospice, Naomi's House & Jacksplace (Registered Charity No.1002832), will receive 2% of funds.

●     The remaining 6% will be donated to a number of other charities that will be confirmed over the coming months, including charities local to CarFest event sites.
