Fyne Audio unveiled the F500E Series loudspeakers at the Warsaw Audio Show, marking the milestone of IsoFlare drivers being incorporated across Fyne’s range.
October 28, 2024 -Glasgow, UK & Warsaw, Poland: Fyne Audio is excited to unveil the new F500E loudspeaker series at this year's Warsaw Audio Show, marking a significant evolution in the company's product line-up. Replacing the highly regarded F300 series, the F500E brings Fyne's innovative IsoFlare™ point source technology to the entry-level range, establishing Fyne Audio as an all-IsoFlare™ driver brand across its entire loudspeaker portfolio.
The new F500E series consists of a four-strong lineup, including the compact F5E, offering remarkable performance in a miniature form factor and offering IsoFlare-based speakers at a new low price point. (£400, €500, $530 per pair). At the heart of the series is the versatile F501E floorstander, featuring a 6-inch/150mm IsoFlare™ driver, delivering exceptional sound quality and immersive stereo imaging. Rounding out the range are two models designed specifically for on-wall/tabletop installation and home cinema applications: the F5E LCR with a 5-inch/125mmIsoFlare driver and the larger F502E LCR featuring an 8-inch / 200mm IsoFlare driver.
The incorporation of Fyne Audio's proprietary IsoFlare™ point source drive unit across all F500E models delivers the true isotropic energy radiation with point source constant directivity, that has seen Fyne Audio go from start-up brand to HiFi heavyweight in just seven years. This advanced driver technology, previously only found in its higher-end models, has underpinned the brand’s success on the global stage. By delivering outstanding stereo imaging and dynamic and detailed sound reproduction at a more affordable level, the F500E series is a formidable choice for audiophiles and home cinema enthusiasts on a budget.
Each IsoFlare™ unit in the F500E Series features Fyne’s signature multi-fibre cone with FyneFlute roll surround and titanium dome tweeters with powerful neodymium magnet motors.
The multi-fibre paper cones are engineered for natural midrange sound and clean transient behaviour, while the proprietary FyneFlute surround technology effectively terminates cone energy to minimise harmful resonances.
The drivers utilise high-rigidity titanium diaphragms—19mm for the 5-inch models and 25mm for the 6-inch and 8-inch versions—to push breakup modes beyond 30kHz, ensuring a smooth and extended treble response. A waveguide in the heart of the driver is designed to shape the HF wave expansion into the room, giving the IsoFlare driver a full-bandwidth, time-aligned radial dispersion pattern for the most accurate musical reproduction.
The F500E series also benefits from meticulously designed crossovers featuring high-quality precision components such as low-loss LF laminated core inductors and high-grade HF film capacitors. These components, combined with rigorous critical auditioning, ensure seamless signal transfer and audio fidelity. For the largest model, the F501E, bi-wired high-quality sockets provide flexible connection options, with all models in the series getting high-purity copper internal wiring for superior signal clarity.
F500E cabinets are a traditional box shape, yet constructed from high-rigidity MDF with driver support bracing panel and acoustic damping material to reduce overall cabinet colouration. Fyne’s patented BassTrax™ Tractrix Diffuser System is integrated into the downward-firing port, converting plain wave port energy into a 360-degree spherical wavefront across a tractrix profile diffuser cone. The result is uniform LF sound distribution that makes the speakers less sensitive to room positioning.
Practically, the F5E and LCR models come equipped with integral wall brackets for easy mounting, providing flexible installation options for both traditional stereo and home cinema setups. Each speaker in the F500E Series is finished in black wood grain vinyl and supplied with a black magnetic grille. For the mighty F501E, the grille can be attached to the rear of the cabinet when not in use at the front.
