In just over a week, Paultons Park, the UK’s number one theme park, opens its largest themed world to date, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings.
To celebrate International Viking Day (Friday May 8th), the attraction has shared new images of the space, revealing the attention to detail and theming that brings the immersive experience to life.
The new Viking-themed world, which opens on Saturday 16th May 2026, features Paultons Park’s first inverting rollercoaster.

Valgard features Paultons Park’s first inverting coaster, Drakon, a brand-new Vild Swing that swirls riders 12 metres in the air, and Cobra, a famous favourite ride at Paultons Park, reborn as Raven.
To complete the Valgard experience, Paultons Park has also created a highly themed Feasting Hall restaurant and new Viking-inspired playground for younger visitors to enjoy.
Paultons Park
Family-run theme park Paultons Park opened in 1983. The park covers 140 acres and has more than 80 rides and attractions including Jurassic-themed attraction Lost Kingdom, Midwest America-themed Tornado Springs, and Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, which opens in May 2026.
Paultons Park was named by Tripadvisor as the eighth best-rated amusement park in the world and the fourth best in Europe in 2025. Paultons Park took home an astonishing 10 trophies in the 2025 UK Theme Park Awards, including the highest accolade, Theme Park of the Year, further cementing its status as the UK’s favourite theme park.
The family owned and operated park won seven gold awards including Best New Attraction for its UK first indoor dark ride, Ghostly Manor, and the Best Customer Service trophy. Recognising its leading space in the UK theme park landscape, the attraction also won gold awards for Best Theme Park for Families and Best Theme Park for Toddlers (large).
The family theme park, located in Ower on the edge of the New Forest, has been rated ‘excellent’ by over 7,500 paying guests to date. The attraction boasts a 4.5 out of 5 Tripadvisor score from over 10,000 reviews.
Peppa Pig World
UK exclusive and world first, Peppa Pig World, is located at family theme park Paultons Park in Hampshire and opened in 2011.
There are now nine rides including Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight, Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Little Train Ride, Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip, Daddy Pig’s Car Ride, George’s Dinosaur Adventure, Windy Castle, The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride and Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club. Other attractions within Peppa Pig World include Peppa’s House, Mr Potato’s Playground and Muddy Puddles, a water splash park.
