1st November 2022, Cirencester: Award-winning cyber security company, Core to Cloud, is soon to complete the refurbishment of its iconic 11,000 square foot, 11th Century Castle headquarters in the centre of Cirencester. Transforming the building into a modern, collaborative workspace where local businesses, schools, colleges and universities can come together to fight against the rising threat of cybercrime.
This news follows recent cyber attacks on organisations in the South West. Last month, Pates Grammar School in Cheltenham was the victim of a major cyber breach while Gloucester City Council confirmed that the recovery costs from a Russian linked attack last year could total more than £1 million. To help local organisations safeguard against this growing risk, Core to Cloud will fit the Castle with state of the art training facilities, a Star Wars style screening room and a spacious events area for students, businesses and industry professionals to share best practice, advice and discover the latest in cyber defence skills and technology.
To mark the re-opening on 17th November, Core to Cloud will be hosting its popular S.COM security and compliance event at the new Castle facilities, bringing together the best of the South West’s IT and cybersecurity experts. Hosted by Amar Singh, founder of Cyber Management Alliance, the free event is open to any business or student to attend for a full day of cyber training and workshops, panel debates, and to hear advice from over 15 industry lead speakers including Neil Martin, Formula One. The day will be rounded off by a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Castle. To attend this exciting event you can register here: https://www.coretocloud.co.uk/scom/
Commenting on the Castle refurbishment, Core to Cloud’s CEO, James Cunningham said: “We’re proud to be opening this fantastic new premises to local businesses and education centres to encourage start-ups and students to collaborate in the world of cyber security. At Core to Cloud, we’re passionate about nurturing future cyber skills to help defend against the war on cyber as well as educate organisations and individuals on the importance of having a strong and resilient security posture. Our new facilities will include spaces for regular webinars, human behaviour training, incidence response plans and much more as we continue to share our knowledge about threat avoidance and diligent use of software.”
The new premises will also be home to its 25+ workforce. Since forming in 2015 Core to Cloud has grown 138% year on year, more than quadrupling its revenue in the last three years and tripling its workforce. This summer alone it has won three major awards including Co-founder James Cunnigham being named as a ‘One to Watch’ in The Times’ LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders list. It now supports over a quarter of UK NHS Trusts, as well as Enterprises such as high street retailer Fat Face and GFK, amongst its diverse portfolio of clients.
