Treat Your Dog to Canine Castle Capers

Read Time: 2 mins

Treat your dog to a bow-wow factor stay in a medieval castle hotel and they can return with memories, plus a special certificate bestowing true ‘b-wagging’ rights within their doggy circle.

Langley Castle Hotel, built in 1350 and located near Haydon Bridge in Northumberland can’t wait to greet doggy visitors to its dog-friendly accommodation, grounds and dog-friendly zones within its seven-feet-thick castle walls.

To this end, it has created its very own ‘Doggy Guide to Canine Castle Capers’, is offering doggies a special doggy B&B option (Poochy Déjeuner), comprising delicious Scrumptious Sausages and Scrambled Egg as brekkie and a snoozing zone of super-comfy dog bed with nearby water bowl, and is even giving doggies special privileges.

Dog companions can simply flash their guide’s Doggy Pawsport page at Langley Castle reception, to receive a little treat.  They can also be the envy of their canine pals, by getting their Doggy King of Queen of the Castle certificate, bearing their name and verifying they were a paw-fect guest during an amazing castle stay.

Their stay can be greatly enriched by the ‘Doggy Scents of Place’ suggestions.  Using these, Fido can sniff out all the best scents in Langley Castle’s extensive 10-acre wooded and lawned grounds, from those left by squirrels, rabbits and peacocks, to those of woodland trees, bracken and waterside plants and mosses.

Doggy accommodation is within relaxing Castle View rooms, suites and lodge in Langley Castle’s grounds, but the doggy visitor can also head inside the castle for meals and relaxation, with food served in the stunning chandelier-lit drawing room.

Pet parents can use their new free guide, to head to numerous recommended dog-friendly places, including visitor attractions, Northumberland National Park walks, Hadrian’s Wall locations and glorious beaches. Advice on staying healthy and safe, safeguarding seals and seabirds, local vet care and car travel is all provided.

The Langley Castle deluxe Poochy Déjeuner experience costs £25pn for the canine visitor.  Rooms in dog-friendly Castle View accommodation cost from £149pn for a double, inclusive of Northumbrian breakfast for pet parents.  Call 01434 688888 to book a dog-friendly room and download the Doggy Guide to Canine Castle Capers at www.langleycastle.co.uk

Langley Castle, built in 1350, is located in Langley-on-Tyne, Northumberland and is one of the few authentic, fortified medieval castles in England. It has a rich history, with strong links to Jacobite rebellions, is located just a stone's throw from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and boasts features including battlements, seven-feet-thick walls, window seats set into the walls and the best example of medieval garderobes in Europe. It is one of the most exquisite wedding venues in the north and also offers a wide range of options when it comes to exclusive use, with the castle being available for weddings, family celebrations, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, D&D-style events and a wide variety of corporate functions.
