Outdoor clothing brand TOG24 today announces a new charity partnership with Mind Over Mountains, an award-winning charity that offers guided mental wellbeing walks and retreats in nature.
The two organisations share a common belief that time outdoors, whether it's a gentle stroll, a dog walk, or a day out on the fells, can transform how we feel. TOG24 has long championed the idea that the outdoors is for everyone, and this new partnership with Mind Over Mountains puts that into action in support of people's mental health.
Mind Over Mountains brings together walking in nature with specialist coaching and counselling to help people restore and sustain their mental wellbeing, in a natural setting. Its programmes have a proven, lasting impact on participants, helping them cope with everything from everyday stress to more serious mental health challenges.
The charity's ultimate vision is for nature and activity-based mental health support to become the norm, commissioned and prescribed by the NHS and accessible to all.
As part of the partnership, the TOG24 Foundation, the retailer’s charity arm, will:
Mark Ward, Managing Director of TOG24, said: "At TOG24 we've always believed that getting outside, whatever that looks like for you, can make a real difference to how you feel. That's why we're so proud to be partnering with Mind Over Mountains. Their work shows how powerful nature, movement, and the right support can be for people's mental health, and we want to help them reach even more people who could benefit. From funding walks to getting our own team out on the hills, this is a partnership we're fully committed to."
Ian Boyd, CEO of Mind Over Mountains, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with TOG24 and the TOG24 Together Foundation. There’s such a natural connection between our organisations and a shared belief in the power of getting outdoors to support our wellbeing.
At Mind Over Mountains, we see every day how time in nature, alongside the right support and human connection, can help people take positive steps with their mental health. TOG24’s support will help us reach more people, raise awareness of the role nature can play in looking after our minds, and create more opportunities for people to experience that support for themselves.
We’re incredibly grateful to the whole TOG24 team for getting behind our work, and we’re really excited about what we can achieve together over the coming years.”
The partnership with the TOG24 Foundation will run for at least two years.
