RKW successfully completed the acquisition of Wade Ceramics in 2023, following its fall into administration in December 2022. As a fellow Stoke-on-Trent business, RKW was passionate about acquiring Wade Ceramics and keeping it rooted in its home city. As one of the UK’s most historic and cherished ceramic brands, Wade has been working to preserve its strong legacy and continue its growth.

Founded in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Wade Ceramics has been synonymous with quality craftsmanship for over two centuries. In the year since the acquisition, RKW is particularly pleased to have preserved both the brand's heritage and its close ties to the local community. This has resulted in the creation of multiple job opportunities and collaborations with other local businesses, such as Royal Stafford. Royal Stafford prioritises traditional manufacturing techniques, using clay from southern England, making Wade’s products wholly British.

Wade’s expertise and reputation for producing high-quality ceramics is well known, not only in the UK but also across the globe, where it has gained a loyal following over the years. Wade have two new ranges that are upcoming, featuring both new items and improved fan favourites.

Coming Soon:

  • Wade Fish Jugs

The Wade Fish Jugs will be making a highly anticipated return, available in a variety of colours and two sizes: 0.6 litres and 1.2 litres. Originally created over 150 years ago, the jug has stood the test of time. First produced in Stoke-on-Trent, the jug became so popular that one was even gifted to the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1958. Now, Wade is proud to reintroduce this design, once more handcrafted in the heart of the pottery industry.

Each jug is made using English earthenware and traditional slip-casting techniques, involving a plaster mould and a meticulous drying and firing process. All pieces are hand-glazed to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship.

These are the perfect centrepiece, aptly named for the distinctive gurgling sound they make when poured. They can be used as jugs, vases, or décor pieces—the possibilities are endless.

  • Pumpkin Collection

In September, Wade Ceramics introduced a Pumpkin collection, the perfect range for adding autumnal charm to any home as the season approaches. This collection includes a set of two mugs, made from strong stoneware and finished with a gloss glaze. Microwave and dishwasher safe, these mugs combine practicality with a festive touch. Additionally, the collection offers casserole dishes in two sizes, featuring a seasonal colour scheme that captures the essence of autumn. These pieces are as functional as they are decorative, making them a must-have for the dining table.

These new releases will expand Wade's already impressive range of ceramic products. Currently, Wade offers four dinnerware collections, each distinct in design. These UK-made dinnerware sets include a dinner plate, side plate, pasta bowl, and cereal bowl. The collections are:

  • Capri: A modern take on an original hand-painted Wade design. Bright and eye-catching, this pattern brings life to any table and is perfect for Mediterranean-style dishes with its vibrant, hand-painted feel.
  • Blue Floral: Inspired by vintage floral illustrations, this timeless design showcases delicate natural blooms, printed in soft blue to blend sophistication with a modern flair.
  • Eton: With its intertwining strawberry design in a classic dark blue, Eton is both timeless and elegant.
  • Botanical Night: Featuring a contemporary floral design in a striking black print, this collection’s contrasting colour schemes suit any household interior.

At Wade, quality extends beyond the products themselves. A local Stoke-on-Trent packaging supplier is used, reducing the carbon footprint of the process. This supplier uses responsibly sourced, FSC-certified materials, reflecting Wade’s commitment to quality from start to finish.

With the two new product launches and the strength of the existing dinnerware collections, Wade’s future remains dedicated to maintaining the tradition of excellence that has defined the brand for over 200 years. Wade offers products that blend elegance, functionality, and charm, perfect for any setting—and sure to capture hearts and attention.

Keep an eye out for new products and much more to come!
