If you’re planning a family holiday in 2024, you might be surprised to learn that the kids are just as likely to want to pick up a fishing rod as they are their iPad. Fishing was once considered a hobby exclusive to older generations, but in a post-Covid world, Gen Z are increasingly pulling on their waders to try this meditative outdoor pursuit.

UK non-profit Angling Trust reported that 75% of the 38,085 participants in its Get Fishing community events in 2022 were under 18, and the hashtag #CarpFishingUK has seen over 166 million views on TikTok.
