Bicester (UK), Saturday 14th June 2025— Monica Collings, Non-Executive Director at Dalcour Maclaren, has been awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in The King’s Honours List for her leadership during the UK energy crisis and her commitment to diversity in the sector.
An award-winning former Chief Executive of challenger brand, So Energy and UK lead at Vattenfall’s retail business, Monica was the only female CEO of a domestic energy supplier during the energy crisis—demonstrating resilience in a rapidly evolving market. Her wider commercial background spans property, automotive and retail, bringing valuable perspective to the energy transition.
Since joining the Dalcour Maclaren Board in May 2024, Monica has brought strategic insight and a strong commitment to inclusive leadership, helping the business strengthen its role in delivering innovative solutions to support the UK’s transition to Net Zero. The company works exclusively in the infrastructure and utilities sector, supporting major UK clients in delivering essential energy, water, transport and telecoms projects.
Monica said: “I am deeply honoured to accept an OBE from His Majesty the King. This recognition is not just personal but a testament to the incredible work being done at Dalcour Maclaren. As part of the company’s Board, I am proud to work with a business that plays such a key role in driving the UK towards Net Zero – delivering sustainable solutions with innovation and purpose. Dalcour Maclaren’s commitment to inclusion also makes it a truly inspiring organisation, where diverse perspectives are valued in fuelling progress. It is a privilege to contribute to such a forward-thinking team.”
Having moved from executive leadership into a portfolio career, Monica now holds non-executive and strategic advisory roles at Dalcour Maclaren, Adler & Allan, Northern Powergrid and Plug-N-Go. She was appointed Chair of POWERful Women, the UK energy sector’s gender diversity organisation, in May 2025.
James Neil, CEO of Dalcour Maclaren, added: “We’re thrilled that Monica has been recognised with an OBE for her contribution to diversity in the energy sector. She’s helping drive real change and her insights have been invaluable to our Board. Monica’s passion for sustainable growth and inclusion aligns perfectly with Dalcour Maclaren’s mission—we’re proud to have her on our team.”
Monica’s advocacy for gender diversity is further underlined by her role as a delegate at the United Nations’ 68th Commission on the Status of Women.
The OBE will be formally presented at a ceremony later this year.
