Ultrafabrics is pleased to announce that Stephen Gatny has joined its international team as the Director of Automotive Advanced Design, Business Development. Based in California, Stephen brings over 16 years of advanced design experience, most recently from Rivian Automotive, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s start-up phase. At Rivian, he led the establishment of the Perceived and Design Quality teams, focusing on feasibility studies for Class-A styling surfaces and managing the quality of components for the R1T truck and R1S SUV, among other projects.
Stephen’s expertise spans from concept development to production, with a keen focus on Class-A surface design and collaborative problem-solving. He has a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, integrating efforts across various departments, and improving design and manufacturing processes. His background also includes significant contributions at Adient, FCA/Chrysler, and GST AutoLeather Inc., showcasing his broad materials proficiency and deep understanding of automotive interior and exterior components.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies and additional studies at Central Saint Martins, Stephen is well-equipped to drive innovation and excellence at Ultrafabrics.
