Talent solutions provider Clevry has launched CPQ Nova, the next generation of its workplace personality assessment, following a five-year scientific review designed to reflect how work has changed in the era of AI, hybrid working and evolving workforce expectations.
The new assessment is the latest evolution of the Clevry Personality Questionnaire (CPQ), which has supported recruitment, leadership and talent development for almost 30 years.
Developed by Clevry's team of business psychologists, CPQ Nova introduces new behavioural constructs including technology confidence, empathy and proactivity, while refining existing measures to improve psychometric accuracy and better reflect the demands of today's workplace.
The review drew on advances in psychological research, changing workplace behaviours and the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs framework, which identifies critical thinking, adaptability and human skills as increasingly important for employers.
Dr Alan Redman, chief science officer at Clevry, said: “The workplace has changed dramatically over the last three decades, but many personality assessments haven't changed with it. Technology is now embedded in almost every role, AI is transforming how work gets done and organisations increasingly value qualities such as adaptability, empathy and continuous learning alongside technical expertise.
“CPQ Nova reflects how organisations evaluate talent today, combining established behavioural science with a more modern understanding of workplace behaviour.”
The project began after Clevry identified a period of unprecedented workplace change, accelerated by COVID-19, hybrid working, increased job mobility and changing employee expectations. While personality itself has not fundamentally changed, the behaviours organisations value and the way people experience work have evolved significantly.
As part of the redesign, every behavioural construct, questionnaire item and scale definition has been reviewed. New measures have been introduced where psychological research has advanced, existing scales have been refined to improve precision and assessment language has been updated to create a clearer, more accessible experience for candidates and employers alike.
Redman added: “AI makes personality assessment more important, not less. As technology takes on more routine tasks, organisations will increasingly differentiate people by the qualities AI can't replace, including critical thinking, sound judgement and adaptability. The organisations that succeed won't simply be those with people who know how to use AI, but those with people who know when to question it.”
CPQ Nova is now available through Clevry's talent assessment platform to support recruitment, leadership development and talent management.
