Homeowners are looking to southern Europe for interiors inspiration, according to new research from coastal-inspired art studio Beach House Art.
Using data from Pinterest, Beach House Art found searches for ‘Mediterranean Interior’ have climbed by 50 per cent in the past month and 40 per cent over the last year.*
The news comes as Beach House Art launch a new collection of blue and white fine art prints, taking inspiration from the crisp coastal colours often associated with Greece, Italy, Spain and the wider Mediterranean.
The 12-strong collection depicts classic coastal icons, including shells, seaweed and sealife studies.
Sam Clapp, Co-Founder of Beach House Art, said: “Mediterranean interiors have become popular because they offer the sense of escape many homeowners are looking for. There is a real appetite for homes that feel lighter, calmer and more relaxed, and that sun-washed southern European look brings instant warmth without feeling overly decorated.
“Blue and white is a timeless combination, but it feels especially relevant now. It has that fresh, coastal quality people associate with holidays, sea views and long summer days, yet it is also incredibly easy to live with in a British home.”
The new collection is the latest original artwork from Beach House Art inspired by Europe. It joins the studio’s existing collection of prints celebrating the region’s sights, colours and cuisine.
A kitchen art collection inspired by Mediterranean tiles put freshly-caught seafood and vibrant citrus fruit in the spotlight, while another food-inspired collection combines fresh produce and crustaceans against brightly-coloured tablecloths.
Sam added: “Not everyone wants to repaint, retile or completely redecorate to bring a trend into their home. Prints are a simple way to introduce that Mediterranean feeling, whether styled against neutral walls, natural textures, pale woods or layered with ceramics and linen. It is about creating a little pocket of sunshine at home.”
Beach House Art’s European-inspired framed prints are available now, with prices starting at £49.
*Pinterest searches for the term ‘Mediterranean Interior’ in Great Britain and Ireland's Top Monthly Trends category have increased 40% over the last 12 months and 50% over the last month (end date: June 24, 2026).
