April 2026 – As the Alps awaken from winter, Dolce Vita Hotels, a collection of five family-run wellness resorts, Alpiana, Preidlhof, Lindenhof, Feldhof and Jagdhof re-open offering adventure, relaxation and a dose of Italian sunshine. The collection celebrates the 25th anniversary of Dolce Vita Hotels in Merano with festivities and special benefits, including 25% discounts on wellness treatments. 

As travel shifts towards these intentional, health-led experiences, the Dolce Vita Hotels group has one of the most extensive wellness offerings in the region with a combined 41 pools, 35 saunas, 31 relaxation rooms and 5 SkySpas, including a six-floor Sauna Tower at Preidlhof and daily Aufguss sessions with resident champions. 

The re-opening comes as sauna culture reaches new heights in the UK, with the British Sauna Society now mapping more than 600 public saunas nationwide. At the same time, Netflix’s The Plastic Detox, which reveals how everyday exposure to plastic and its chemicals could be affecting our health, has accelerated interest in heat-based rituals and restorative wellness. 

Sauna-Hopping 

Through Dolce Vita Hotels’ signature hotel hopping concept, guests can experience multiple wellness destinations in one trip, enjoying the facilities and services of all five, free of charge. All the properties are a short walk from one another, aside from Alpiana which is a 30-minute drive, allowing guests to drift between thermal pools, herbal saunas, and panoramic yoga decks in the Italian Alps.  

With a team of award-winning spa therapists and doctors, the hotel group offers transformative wellness retreats, including menopause-focused programmes, and signature Sauna Around Weeks with traditional Aufguss sessions led by World Champions. From an active, family-friendly escape at Feldhof to an adults-only retreat at Preidlhof or a nature wellness stay at Alpiana, the hotels’ expansive wellness spaces are designed to mirror the serenity of the surrounding landscapes.

Following renovation updates, the hotels have re-opened their doors, continuing to evolve with wellness enhancements: 

• Hotel Feldhof has expanded its Sky Spa to include more lounging areas, with the introduction of a new family spa
• Hotel Preidlhof introduces a new thermal pool with healing water, an infinity rooftop spa, a 90°C Sunset Sauna and a -10°C Snow room 

Alpine Trails in Bloom 

Beyond the spa, Dolce Vita Hotels invite travellers to explore the quieter landscapes of Lana and Naturno uncovering a restorative side of the mountains with its spring hiking offering. Set amid mountain valleys in the Merano-Venosta region of South Tyrol, the region offers optimal hiking conditions year-round.
