Derby-based PR agency Honest Communications is celebrating after the success of this year’s world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower show – with client Darwin Alternatives taking home a prestigious Silver Gilt award for the stunning and thought-provoking Memoria & GreenAcres Transcendence Show Garden.
At the show, the agency launched the #DifficultConversations campaign which encourages people to initiate positive conversations around the end of life and share their dying wishes with loved ones before the time comes. Designed by Gavin McWilliam and Andrew Wilson of McWilliam Studio, the garden was created to be uplifting and tranquil, offering a space to reflect and remember loved ones, and proved to be a real hit at the show among visitors, celebrities and judges alike.
The Honest Communications team were honoured to be joined by grief counsellor, author, and broadcaster Jeff Brazier on Monday to unveil the enchanting Transcendence Garden and introduce the #DifficultConversations campaign. Throughout the week, the Honest team and the garden hosted media, royals and celebrities, who explored the garden and learnt more about its important message. Several famous faces were spotted visiting the beautiful oasis, including Dame Judi Dench, Michael and Gemma Owen, Bill Bailey, Alex Jones, Louis Walsh, Alan Titchmarsh MBE, Bruno Tonioli, Vanessa Feltz, Nick Knowles, Ben Fogle, Jo Whiley, Nick Grimshaw, Fiona Bruce, Deborah Meadon and Gaby Roslin to name but a few!
Honest Communications, based on London Road, specialises in providing PR, social media and content creation services to garden, home and lifestyle brands and has previously supported Hillier, David Austin Roses, and Haws at the world-renowned show. This year, another of Honest’s clients, Seedball was also exhibiting and celebrated winning a Three-Star Tradestand Award presented by the RHS, despite it being the disruptive wildflower brand’s very first time at the show– an exceptional triumph for a first-time stand.
Honest’s work for the show has stemmed past just show week, with months spent planning campaigns, arranging an online press event for leading journalists and influencers, arranging press tours around the show ground during build, working with the BBC and inviting celebrities, journalists, and influencers to visit the garden throughout the week. Over the past month, the Honest team has leveraged coverage for the garden and designers in top titles such as Country Living, Daily Express, Ideal Home, The Evening Standard, Good Housekeeping, and The Telegraph. The Transcendence Garden could also be seen throughout the live BBC coverage and was featured in the opening scenes of the BBC’s Chelsea Flower Show television series.
