Start-Rite Shoes announces 12 new styles across its primary and secondary back to school collections, alongside a new online retail partnership with Marks and Spencer. The news comes as the business continues its mission to help every parent and carer understand the importance of fitted footwear as a child develops during the school days.
Jen Tyley, Marketing & eCommerce Director at Start-Rite Shoes, explains:
“Shoes are so much more than an item of school uniform; they are a piece of equipment that is fundamental to supporting the child’s development. Start-Rite school shoes protect developing cartilage, support joints, ligaments and tendons, reduce the risk of injury and enable healthy growth.”
“Our creative theme, ‘There is nothing uniform about a Start-Rite school shoe’, is designed to improve understanding that no one shoe size, or shape fits all, and each pair of feet has a set of needs, that shoes should meet. Our 12 new school shoe styles for AW24, alongside new high profile retail partnerships, demonstrate our commitment to the children’s shoe industry and support our growth ambitions.”
The twelve new Start-Rite school shoe styles for 2024, available in independent retailers, large multiples and online, have all been carefully designed to provide the support a child’s feet need during the school day and beyond. With a child wearing their school shoes for at least 1,280 hours each year, it’s vital their shoes support healthy growth to avoid potential physical challenges later in life.
Highlights of the new additions to Start-Rite’s school shoe collection include Eclipse, an on-trend monk shoe style with a high shine finish and chunky sole for confident strides, which is perfect for school or weekend styling. Flourish in the primary school collection, features a decorative bow in classic leather and added toe protection for durability. Child appeal is also strong with Spider Web, a spider-themed school shoe made from breathable textile and leather linings, as well as padded ankles and collar, and removable insole for long-lasting comfort and protection.
Start-Rite shoes are now available online at Marks and Spencer, in addition to other major retail launches including Sainsbury’s. M&S is stocking casual styles as well as school shoes, including three of the new signature styles for AW24: Spellbound, a smart T-bar, Spider Web, a trainer style, and Stardust, a classic Mary Jane style.
