Hungary is emerging as a growing European start-up destination, with more than 9,500 start-ups established across the country, according to Tracxn. More than 2,300 founders have gone on to build companies that have collectively raised over $8.51 billion in venture capital and private equity.
At the centre of this growth is Budapest, where rising foreign investment and an expanding start-up sector are helping to establish the city as an important business hub in Central Europe. As more companies and corporate travellers head to the Hungarian capital, demand is also growing for flexible meeting spaces and business-focused accommodation.
Kimpton BEM Budapest is ready to meet the rising demand of business travellers in Budapest with eight event rooms covering a total of 895m2. The hotel’s largest space can accommodate up to 200 guests, while six breakout rooms are available for smaller meetings, workshops and private events. The spaces can be used for conferences, company gatherings, business meetings and private dinners.
Set within a restored 19th-century mansion on the Buda side of the Danube, the hotel has 127 rooms, including eight suites, allowing delegates to stay at the same property as their event. Designed by Marcel Wanders, the interiors feature references to Hungarian folklore and local craftsmanship.
Kimpton BEM Budapest encourages business guests to extend their stay beyond their meetings and make the most of their time in the city. The hotel’s location provides easy access to Budapest’s historic sights, thermal baths and dining scene, with Buda Castle just a 30-minute walk away.
Back at the hotel, guests can unwind in the intimate wellness area, which features a spacious hot tub, steam room, sauna and invigorating ice shower. Open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the space is designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests can also choose from a curated menu of in-room massage treatments targeting areas such as the head and scalp, face, back or feet.
In the evening, they can enjoy dinner at the hotel’s flagship restaurant, AGOS, followed by drinks at Bar HUSO or FENNEN Sky Bar.
The hotel is also well connected, with Budapest Airport just a 35-minute drive away and Budapest-Keleti, the city’s main railway station, around 18 minutes by car or 25 minutes by tram.

About Kimpton BEM Budapest
The opening of Kimpton BEM Budapest in September 2024 marked Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ first boutique luxury hotel in Hungary and their first property in Eastern Europe. Set within a restored 19th-century mansion on the Buda side of the Danube, the 127-room property – including 8 suites – has been designed by Dutch visionary Marcel Wanders (one of just ten fortunate hotels he’s designed in the last two decades of his career, with Kimpton BEM Budapest being his final project). The hotel’s interiors draw inspiration from Hungarian folklore and yet are contemporary in design, with features ranging from upside-down egg-shaped reception desks to a glass atrium showcasing a golden stag. Kimpton BEM Budapest offers views across the river to some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and places guests within easy reach of the UNESCO-listed Castle District, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Budapest’s famed bathing culture. Three inventive dining concepts form part of the experience, underpinned by a strong sustainability ethos that incorporates energy-efficient systems, waste reduction measures, and a commitment to local sourcing. Their restaurant AGOS has been awarded two Toques by Gault&Millau, and is amongst the Top 35 Restaurants in Hungary. Wellness is also central to the hotel, with a tranquil spa and treatments influenced by the city’s thermal history and heritage.
As part of IHG’s Low Carbon Pioneer program, Kimpton BEM Budapest leads the way in sustainable hospitality with energy-efficient systems, eco-certified suppliers, and a deep commitment to local sourcing and environmental responsibility. They have also been awarded One MICHELIN Key in 2025 and have been chosen as Tripadvisor’s number one Luxury Hotel in Hungary.
Rates at Kimpton BEM Budapest start from € 200 per night. The rate is based on double occupancy.
