The UK’s longest running vegan event returns to its Bristol roots this summer as the much loved Bristol Vegan Fayre comes back to Document on Saturday June 20th for a vibrant Summer Solstice celebration of all things vegan and plant based.
Now in its 23rd year, the iconic event has become a firm fixture in both Bristol’s cultural calendar and the wider UK vegan scene, attracting thousands of visitors annually for a full day packed with food, shopping, talks, entertainment, inspiration and community spirit - all under one roof in the heart of Bristol.
Popular with vegans, plant based and vegan curious alike, Bristol Vegan Fayre continues to offer an accessible and welcoming introduction to plant based living.
“From ice cream, pies and pizzas through to doner kebabs - and pretty much everything in between - there is a huge variety of choice for people wanting to explore one of the fastest-growing lifestyle movements in the UK.
“Whether it is for your health, the planet or the animals, Bristol Vegan Fayre is a fantastic place to discover more about plant-based living and the benefits of going vegan.”
Entertainment will once again play a major role in the day’s celebrations, with two outdoor stages running throughout the event featuring live music, DJs and comedy.
“It is the Summer Solstice and we have some brilliant live acts, terrific playlists and DJ sets running throughout the day, with something for everyone. We are also joined by some top comedians too.
Veganism has always had a serious side, however Bristol Vegan Fayre has always been steeped in entertainment and community spirit, creating a welcoming environment where people can discover new ideas and learn more about the many benefits of plant-based living.
Two dedicated talks rooms focusing on Plant-Based Lifestyles and Animal Rights & Activism will host a packed programme of presentations and discussions.
Speakers include former professional footballer Simon Clist, who played for both Bristol City F.C. and Forest Green Rovers F.C. during his career, alongside Simon Russell, long-term chair of the Hunt Saboteurs Association. Visitors can also hear from well known campaign groups including Animal Aid, Viva! and Little Green Pigeon.
Vegan Business Mastermind will host a panel featuring local and national business owners discussing what it takes to run a successful independent vegan business.
And author of The Football Factory John King joins the event for a fireside chat about his latest book exploring undercover investigations into animal testing laboratories.
The event also features a groundbreaking talk from Dr Arielle Griffiths, a qualified vet specialising in plant-based nutrition for companion animals including cats and dogs. Her company, Just Be Kind Dog & Cat Food, is one of the sponsors of the event.
Dr Arielle says:
“I believe in a kinder, healthier way to feed our dogs and cats that does no damage to our environment, harms no animals and uses fresh, healthy plant-based ingredients for a balanced, wholesome and delicious diet,”.
The Bristol Vegan Fayre will feature up to 90 independent traders, campaign groups and animal sanctuaries, showcasing the resilience and creativity of the growing UK vegan community despite continuing economic challenges.
At the heart of the show are independent vegan traders, family businesses, campaign groups and sanctuaries coming together for a positive day celebrating vegan living and community.
And everyone is welcome!
