Seed Academy Ghana (SAG) will host a 3x3 Basketball Tournament on Sunday, September 3rd at the University of Ghana. The Seed Academy Ghana 3x3 will bring together 150 elite U16 male and female student-athletes from across Ghana, including Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast and showcase the transformative power of basketball.

“We are excited to host the Seed Academy Ghana 3x3 and continue our efforts promoting youth empowerment, self-confidence, leadership, and a sense of community through sport as well as a commitment to nurture budding talents in Ghana.

We believe that by providing the necessary infrastructure and resources, not only is the standard of basketball elevated in the country, but initiatives like these lay the foundation for a brighter future, both within the realm of sports and beyond,” shares former NBA Player and Founder of SAG, Pops Mensah-Bonsu,.

3x3 Basketball is a fast-paced and entertaining format featuring one hoop, one half court, and two teams of three players. With a 10-minute game duration and no breaks after scoring, the game concludes when a team reaches 21 points. The SAG 3x3 games promise non-stop action and the experience will be elevated by a continuous infusion of music curated by DJ MzOrstin that will complement the game's energy, creating an immersive atmosphere that resonates with players and spectators alike.

The Ghana Division of SEED, (Sports for Education and Economic Development) Academy was launched by Pops Mensah-Bonsu in 2018 and works in partnership with the Ghana Basketball Association to help support and enhance the development of basketball, coaching and infrastructure for the sport in the country as well as mentor, coach, and signpost future basketball talents.

The primary goal of Seed Academy Ghana is to develop the next generation of African leaders through education and basketball while creating a sustainable, scalable basketball culture that will cultivate and inspire the next generation of Ghanaian youth.
