Vehicle security, compliance and technology specialist, HH Driveright, is celebrating the awarding of Thatcham Security Certification for its new and highly affordable HHD S7 GPS Tracker device.
HH Driveright’s HHD S7 GPS Tracker is a device that can track a stolen vehicle but also issue security alerts to the owner, via a dedicated call centre service. Alerts could relate to aspects of vehicle security such as battery tampering, power disconnect and vehicle towing.
Alerts are issued in real-time, enabling the vehicle owner or driver to assess what is happening to their vehicle and seek help, if necessary, by contacting the police.
The beauty of the HHD S7 GPS Tracker also lies in its affordability, with the cost of using this device spread over the year, via the HH Driveright subscription service. Not having to find several hundreds of pounds upfront, per vehicle, is one way in which HH Driveright is seeking to assist the fight on vehicle crime for the average fleet operation.
The cutting-edge solution now approved by Thatcham should also enable the customer to access an insurance discount, facilitating the saving of what could be around 10% on the cost of insuring each vehicle. Across an entire fleet, that could lead to a sizeable saving.
Should a fleet manager wish to add to the HHD S7 GPS tracker, they can opt for a manual immobilisation service. If the vehicle were stolen, the driver or owner could immobilise the vehicle from their dashboard, when the vehicle stops. This option could potentially lead to a greater likelihood of recovering the vehicle. Re-mobilisation takes minutes, once the vehicle is secured once more.
HH Driveright’s managing director, Rebecca Hall, says, “Thatcham Security Certification carries huge weight in the insurance industry. Thatcham Research has a long heritage stretching back to 1969, when it first became the motor insurers’ automotive research centre. It is known for being the centre of excellence and leading authority for vehicle security system testing.
“Any product acquiring the certification now held by our HHD S7 GPS Tracker, has been subjected to a robust verification programme that tests functionality, design and performance. Given the weight of the Thatcham name, and the rigorous testing our product has been through, we are delighted to secure this certification. We are sure it will give fleet managers and insurers additional faith in our product as a vehicle security asset and assist the ongoing and very necessary battle against vehicle crime.”
The HHD S7 GPS Tracker can be obtained by paying just £50 per vehicle upfront and then a monthly subscription of £20 per vehicle for tracking only, or £30 per vehicle per month for a service that also includes immobilisation. After a full year of payments, the costs fall to £10 per month for the core service and £20 for the service inclusive of immobilisation, on a rolling 12 months' basis.
