New Thatcham-approved Security Device Also Protects Cash Flow and Budgets

Vehicle security specialist, HH Driveright, has launched a device that delivers significant savings on vehicle security costs, whilst also protecting a fleet’s cash flow.

Its new HHD S7 GPS Tracker device, approved by Thatcham Research to its S7 certification for Asset Location Systems, costs £329 less per year than another device with similar capabilities.

In addition, the upfront cost of fitting the HH Driveright HHD S7 GPS Tracker device is just £50, whereas competitive products expect the fleet manager to find as much as £379, per vehicle, up front.

The £50 payment secures the fitting of the HHD S7 GPS Tracker device and sits alongside a £20 per month subscription payment for 12 months.

This makes the cost of the HHD S7 GPS Tracker device just £290 for a year.  After that 12-month period, the cost reduces to £10 per month, for the ongoing subscription.

The HHD S7 GPS Tracker device makes van security more affordable,” says HH Driveright’s managing director, Rebecca Hall.  “We have created a pricing structure that allows the van fleet operator to spread their payments and not adversely affect cash flow by having to find a significant upfront payment.  If fitting out a fleet with first-rate security devices, that makes a huge difference to cash flow.

“The overall cost of our Thatcham-approved HHD S7 GPS Tracker device is also lower than that of devices that have the same capabilities.  It is also significantly more affordable than some devices that do not have as much functionality.  If you mirror the savings across all vehicles in a fleet, a huge saving can be made.  Furthermore, our Thatcham-approved device could attract an insurance premium discount of up to 12.5%, so is a means through which to also lower insurance costs.

The HHD S7 GPS Tracker device is able to not just track a stolen vehicle but also issue vital alerts that can prevent the vehicle from being stolen.  These include alerts relating to battery tampering, disconnected power and towing – all indications that criminal activity is underway.

The monitoring is 24/7 and backed by a service provided by a secure operations centre that immediately contacts the owner, if it detects suspicious activity.  Should the police not be able to assist in good time, a response service is also available.

Notification volumes are unlimited and the device comes with a three-year warranty.  It can be fitted by authorised HH Driveright engineers within a network around the country, who will install the device in the most covert location within the vehicle.

The HHD S7 GPS Tracker device also comes with the advantage of monitoring driver behaviour, producing dashboard reports relating to aspects of driving such as speeding and harsh cornering and braking.  It can provide a wealth of data, which assists fleet risk management, with this including trip history, driver ratings and vehicle impacts.

What it can also have added, unlike some other devices, is a remote and auto-immobilisation feature.  This identifies when keys are left in the ignition and provides an in-cab alert.  If the driver does not respond to that, by locking the doors, the device can auto-immobilise the van after 10 seconds.  If an auto-immobilisation service is not selected by the customer, but a theft situation occurs, remote immobilisation can take place, whenever a stolen vehicle stops.

The immobilisation feature comes at an extra cost of £10 per month (£30 per month in total), making the cost of a HHD S7 GPS Tracker device with immobilisation £410.  Other devices with this immobilisation feature cost up to £731.88, with £528 of that being an upfront payment.  The upfront payment required for the HHD S7 GPS Tracker device with immobilisation is still just £50.

Two of the leading comparative trackers to the HHD S7 GPS Tracker device to not have this immobilisation feature at all, whilst other immobilisation services do not have the 10-second warning capability, to help keep delivery vehicles safe from the threat of thieves who specifically target courier vans and their goods.

Rebecca Hall says, “We have channelled our own in-depth knowledge of the van fleet market, delivering a product that we know addresses the core needs and requirements of fleet managers.  We believe our pricing structure and our HHD S7 GPS Tracker device’s capabilities make this the most attractive tracker on the market for the average fleet operation.”
