Leading regional law firm, WSP Solicitors, with offices in Gloucester and Stroud, has been recognised for its exceptional Family Law support in the prestigious Chambers UK Guide 2026, an industry-leading directory that identifies and ranks the legal market's best law firms and lawyers.

The firm’s Managing Director and Head of Children & Care Law, Camella Cephas and Beth Evans, Director and Head of Family Law, have both been named in the guide, while the Family Law department also picked up commendations for going ‘above and beyond for their clients’.

Published annually, the Chambers UK Guide has been a trusted source of independent legal market intelligence for more than 30 years. The guide describes its rankings as “the most thoroughly researched and independent on the market” and takes pride in its rigorous and comprehensive methodology which plays a crucial role in shaping its results.

Recognised in the guide as ‘a dedicated solicitor who offers a high level of support to clients’ and ‘provides pragmatic and sensible advice’, Camella is an accredited member of the Law Society’s children panel. She specialises in Child law, both public and private law cases, including complex matters involving international elements, forced marriage protection orders, non-accidental injuries, and allegations of sexual abuse.

Beth Evans has been described as having ‘a wealth of experience in private children law. She deals with complex matters effortlessly and provides effective and realistic advice’ and has been commended on ‘having a detailed understanding of the law.’ Beth is a member of Resolution, a national body of 6,500 lawyers committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes, is a Resolution Accredited Specialist, and is also a Collaborative Lawyer. Beth’s specialisms include cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, and divorce and dissolution proceedings. With a presence in the region for over 265 years, WSP's Family team specialises in all areas of family law, including Divorce & Separation, Private Children work, Out of Court separation, Prenups and Post-nups, Child Care law and Adoption. With the firm described as ‘going the extra mile in ensuring clients receive top-quality representation.’

Commenting on the firm’s success in this year’s guide, Camella said: “We are immensely proud to see our Family Law department recognised in the Chambers and Partners directory. This achievement reflects the exceptional expertise and dedication of our team, and it’s fantastic to see individual members of the team receiving rankings as well. This is a significant milestone that reinforces WSP Solicitors’ commitment to delivering outstanding family law services to our clients, helping make their lives less complicated.

“We believe that by nurturing talent from within and fostering a culture of continuous learning, as well as providing exciting opportunities for those looking to join the firm, we’ll attract and retain the best legal talent in the region while continuing to strengthen our legal expertise and the delivery of our services. We’re looking forward to showcasing our successes in future publications of the Chambers' guide.”

Editors notes

WSP Solicitors has been at the heart of Gloucestershire since 1758, formed following the merger of three local firms: Winterbothams, A E Smith & Son and Penleys, which was established by the Vizard family. William Vizard acted for Queen Caroline when George IV tried to divorce her.

The firm’s ethos is to make life less complicated from everything it does from the legal advice it offers individuals and companies down to its fees. With offices in the Cotswold town of Stroud and just outside Gloucester City Centre, enabling them to easily service clients in both Gloucester and Cheltenham, the firm now has a team of 65 providing a wide range of personal and business legal services including:

• Commercial contracts

• Commercial property

• Buying and selling a business

• Residential conveyancing

• Child and family law

• Separating together – out of court family law services

• Wills, trusts and probate

In 2025, WSP Solicitors was a finalist in the Customer Excellence category at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business awards.
