Fleet Broking Specialist Shines With Silver

Specialist fleet transport insurance broker, McCarron Coates, has achieved double success at the prestigious Insurance Times Awards, scooping two silver awards.

The broker competed against larger and more general commercial brokers in these awards, hoping the judges would appreciate its dedication to finding winning insurance solutions for clients in the specific sector of fleet transport. 

Despite its niche specialism, it wowed the judges in the categories of both Commercial Lines Broker and Broker of the Year, taking home the impressive Silver awards, to add to other top insurance accolades it has won in the past.

The two Insurance Times awards were reward for hard work and a relentless drive to furnish clients with the very best risk management solutions and layers of protection.  This includes the unique RTC Crisis Line service, provided to all McCarron Coates clients.  Through this service, drivers can quickly access in-person legal representation, from transport sector lawyers, should they become involved in a police-investigated incident.  

That can be the difference between a loss of licence or a prison sentence and a much less severe punishment, if mitigating circumstances can be presented.  It can also avoid a driver implicating themselves, when they were actually not at fault.

The awards also recognised McCarron Coates dedication to finding new ways of communicating risks to clients.  In 2024, this even led to its creation of its own board game – Road Hierarchy - to help clients understand the very tangible legal threats to licences and liberty that they can face on the road.

This was part of the broker’s ongoing mission to make fleet transport operators more aware of the liability implications of the 2022 Highway Code’s Hierarchy of Road Users.  This made commercial drivers more responsible for public safety on the roads than any other type of driver.
