Green Carpet Wellness Experiences to be Had at Levens Hall and Gardens

Levens Hall and Gardens, in the South Lakes in Cumbria, is rolling out the ‘green carpet’ for wellness seekers this summer.

The historic Elizabethan property has brand-new wellbeing experiences to nurture body and mind in one of England’s most historic garden settings. Participants can become nature VIPs during the sessions, which make use of 10 acres of gardens, including the world’s oldest topiary garden and the nearby Levens Deer Park and woodland.

The green carpet approach also builds on feedback from TV royalty and Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes episode 3, featuring Robson Green and Helen Skelton visiting Levens Hall and Gardens. The presenters took a wellness walk with Francesca Anderson, who is now replicating that experience in restorative two-hour wellness walks, on July 26 or August 16, costing £35.

Helen Skelton said everyone “wants Francesca in their life”, whilst Robson Green reflected on her amazing energy and ability to generate ‘gorgeousness’. Others wishing to derive the benefit of this approach will soon appreciate what the Levens Hall and Gardens green carpet offering is all about – making participants feel valued, but also learning to value themselves.

This will be highly evident in a new Mindfulness for Menopause and Beyond session, also led by Francesca Anderson, which helps women rewire their brains by channelling the powers of nature to help connect with their neural pathways.

By walking slowly, learning to balance their emotional regulation system, and tuning in to the five senses, amidst glorious gardens and birdsong, participants can immerse themselves in the present moment. All discover who they are, what they want, and what they need to let go, during a treasure hunt for the small pleasures in life.

This session, priced at £65, is ideal for those encountering the menopause but other wellness seekers too, putting self-care into focus. Running between 10 am and 4 pm on August 15, it’s another fantastic green carpet wellness experience at Levens Hall and Gardens.

Yoga in the gardens sessions, launched in 2024, continue to feature in the events calendar as 75-minute sessions, mostly running on a Friday morning, at 9.30 am, priced at £25. These occasions demonstrate how the stately home is placing nature firmly at the heart of holistic health.

The belief in wellness underpinning Levens Hall and Gardens’ green carpet approach is well-rooted in research. Nature also provides what has been described as a ‘soft fascination’. Trees, leaves, and birdsong gently stimulate our brains and encourage contemplation. Nature literally grounds us in the present with a calm and reflective mindset.
