WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT LOVE TO EXPLORE?
The way we travel has evolved, and we find ourselves longing to visit places that others haven’t. We want to discover new destinations for ourselves. We want to be the first to put our footprints in the sand. Love to Explore are specialists in curating tailormade itineraries to some of the lesser-known islands in the Indian Ocean, including two of its most remote islands: Rodrigues and Reunion Island.
Rodrigues
Located 600km north-east of Mauritius, and close to no other landform, Rodrigues is a world unto itself. One of the most remote uninhabited islands in the world, Rodrigues is a small volcanic island that is home to white sandy beaches, turquoise lagoons, and lush green hills. It is also a snorkeller’s and diver’s paradise thanks to its unique coral reef and lagoon which are millions of years old.
Love to Explore recommends: ‘Off the beaten track: Rodrigues & Mauritius’. Price starts from £2,600pp for an eight-night itinerary exploring both Rodrigues and Mauritius. Price is per person based on a half-board basis in Rodrigues and all-inclusive basis in Mauritius. Rate includes international flights.
Reunion Island
Whisper it quietly, but Reunion Island might just be the Indian Ocean’s ultimate hidden gem. An adventure-lover’s playground, Reunion Island is home to craggy volcanic landscapes, teeming rainforests, sheer waterfalls and pristine sandy beaches. To travel there is to take a journey into nature. Whether you’re exploring the peaks of the island’s active volcano, Piton de la Fournaise, or trekking through the remote mountains of Cirque de Mafata – an area only accessible by foot – you’ll be taking a trip to the heart of what Reunion Island has to offer.
Love to Explore recommends: Reunion & Mauritius. Price starts from £3,064pp for an eight-night itinerary exploring both Reunion and Mauritius. Price is per person on a bed and breakfast basis and includes international flights.
WHO IS LUDO, FOUNDER OF LOVE TO EXPLORE?
From childhood trips to the Caribbean and Indian Ocean, to adventures involving hippo charges in the Ugandan outback; travel is very much a part of Founder, Ludo Bennett-Jones. When leaving school at the age of almost seventeen, Ludo shied away from a traditional path and instead decided to purchase a Peugeot 106 and drive it to Mongolia. Why not?
Later, he achieved his Ocean Yachtmaster certification and turned his attention offshore. He sailed a dinghy around the entirety of the UK before aiming higher and taking part in the inaugural Oyster World Rally which involved 27,000 nautical miles of sailing, visiting 25 destinations, and taking 17 months. After another couple of years at sea – literally – Ludo decided it was time to return home and get a ‘proper’ job, and so he became an Audley Travel expert. After six years, Ludo decided to take the leap and founded Love to Explore. Established in 2023, Love to Explore has its sights set firmly on becoming one of the UK’s leading tour operators.
When travellers book with Love to Explore, they’re speaking with a team of experts who have visited the destinations that they sell one hundred times over. They’re in the hands of people who know these destinations inside out, and are therefore able to tailor-make the perfect itinerary.
