The era of plain walls is officially over.

Made-to-measure interiors brand CutMy has announced new research showing consumer interest in wall panelling’ reached an all-time high in 2025.

Using Google’s Trends platform, CutMy discovered searches for the term ‘ wall panelling’ peaked at its highest position in October 2025. And the experts at CutMy are predicting wall panelling has become a long-term fixture in interior design.

James Bryant, Founder of CutMy, said: “Wall panelling offers an immediate sense of character and craftsmanship, which can be difficult to achieve with paint or wallpaper alone. Whether you’re updating a period property or adding interest to a new build, panelling elevates a room in a way that feels both considered and timeless.

“And as well as looking great, panelling is surprisingly practical. MDF panelling is durable, hides everyday scuffs and imperfections, and provides a tough, wipeable surface, which is why it’s so popular in hallways, kitchens and children’s bedrooms.

“Panelling has become a staple of modern interior design – not a fleeting trend. It’s timeless, it works in every room of the house, and it gives homeowners the chance to be creative. That’s why we don’t see demand slowing any time soon.”

CutMy’s innovative approach to wall panelling means all products are made to clients’ exacting specifications, which means even those with minimal DIY skills can still achieve a statement finish.

Homeowners simply need to enter the dimensions of their wall and use CutMy’s visualiser tool to design their own panelling.

For those who desire a more traditional look, Shaker-style kits, V-Groove panels and wainscoting options are available, while Oak Slat Wall, ribbed and fluted panels are ideal for those who want a modern aesthetic.

James added: “Compared with more labour-intensive decorative finishes, panelling offers a premium look without the premium price tag. And for DIY-minded homeowners, it’s a straightforward weekend project with dramatic results.”

CutMy’s range of wall panelling options are available now, with prices starting at £9.01.
