LAGEN ISLAND TO RE-OPEN IN 2025
FOLLOWING EXTENSIVE TRANSFORMATION
Renderings and high-res imagery available to download here
In Q3 2025, Lagen Island will unveil its reimagined self, following an extensive renovation. Located in the heart of the Philippines in El Nido, Palawan, Lagen Island is a private island resort surrounded by tropical forest and a turquoise blue lagoon. The hotel first opened in 1998 but will soon have a very new look.
WHAT’S NEW?
Lagen Island closed its doors in June this year to undergo quite the transformation, and the finished resort will soon have an entirely new look. But what will be new?
The spa will be split across two levels and will feature a Spa Garden and Reflection Pond, a gym, yoga studio, relaxation lounge, watsu pool, hot and cold plunge pools, a steam room and a sauna, as well as three treatment rooms - each of which will have two beds, a bath tub, and a private bathroom.
WHAT IS THERE TO KNOW IN TERMS OF DESIGN?
More will be revealed soon regarding the transformation of Lagen Island, but what can be promised is that Lagen Island will be an honest representation of Filipino identity. The design will champion native and tribal aesthetics and will fuse the traditions of Palawan and local craftmanship with what Filipino’s consider to be luxury today.
Filipino’s know luxury, and Lagen Island is it.
HOW IS THE ENVIRONMENT BEING CONSIDERED DURING THE RENOVATION?
As a proud member of El Nido Resorts, Lagen Island continues its legacy as a global leader in responsible travel. Every aspect of the redesign has been guided by a deep commitment to preservation – from protecting fragile marine ecosystems to minimising environmental impact. El Nido Resorts even has its very own dedicated sustainability team to ensure that the resort is for people and planet first and foremost. This dedicated team rightfully guards and watches over Lagen Island and controls all decision making that concerns it. We are looking forward to being able to share further details soon.
Lagen Island’s ever-pioneering approach to responsible travel allows guests to indulge in barefoot luxury while actively contributing to the conservation of one of the world’s last frontiers.
WHEN WILL LAGEN ISLAND RE-OPEN?
It is anticipated that Lagen Island will reopen in Q3 2025.
