Colour drenching has swept into interiors, leaving a myriad of beautifully sophisticated spaces in its wake.
And wall panelling experts Naturewall are showing homeowners how to combine colour drenching with wall panelling to bring depth and dimension to any space in the home.
Olivia Crosher, Interior Designer for Naturewall, said: “Colour drenching is an incredibly stylish way to decorate a space. Using different shades of the same colour across every element of a room not only looks aesthetically pleasing but brings a sense of calm and tranquillity.
“But if you want to take it up a level, combine with wall panels to add interest and texture, helping to bring spaces to life and add an element of luxe.”
Here Olivia offers her expertise on how to combine colour drenching and wall panelling to great effect across different areas of the home.
Olivia said: “In the living room, opt for half-wall MDF panels and paint with a rich, bold tone of your chosen colour.
“Above the panels, go for a lighter, juicer shade which will draw the eye up, adding a sense of height. Once finished, you can more freely play with different shades for your furniture and accessories.”
Hallways can be small and awkward spaces to decorate, but Olivia advises homeowners to choose a light, pale colour.
She said: “Combine a bright shade with a combination of wainscotting and a dado rail to bring joy to hallways. These can be carefully painted in a darker shade of your preferred hue so your hallway will boast neat, intricate details.”
Bathrooms are a little trickier, but with Naturewall’s range of waterproof shower panels, colour drenching is still an option.
Olivia said: “Unlike living rooms and bedrooms, there aren’t many soft furnishings to contribute towards a colour drenched aesthetic in the bathroom. To enjoy a sense of movement and natural vitality, luxurious, easy-to-install shower panels are perfect. Capturing the intricate detail of natural stone, Elemence shower panels are available in a diverse selection of organic colours that are ideal as part of a colour drenched bathroom.”
And finally, don’t forget about the bedroom.
Olivia said: “Bedrooms are the perfect space to get creative with colour drenching. There is so much potential for blankets, pillows and other elements to share similar hues, and larger details such as wall panels, bedheads and furniture are all great vehicles for supporting colours.
“Neutral shades of cream, off white and grey complement a whole host of popular colour drenching options. With bedrooms, be sure to consider light when picking your dominant colour. In a room often illuminated by artificial light, the details of darker shades can be lost so contemplate light, refreshing tones.”
Naturewall’s range of wall panels are available now, with prices starting from £39.99 for an MDF Wall Panelling Kit.
