Fairy-tale Northumberland wedding venue, Langley Castle, believes it is potentially offering couples the most budget-friendly, exclusive-use castle wedding package for weddings staged in the first quarter of 2027.

At a cost of just £7000 for a wedding booked in January, February or March 2027, a couple can enjoy exclusive use of the medieval castle and its grounds, celebrating with 18 guests in total privacy and a feeling of regal splendour.

Thrown in for free is the stunning backdrop provided by the most authentic medieval fortified castle in England, which publications worldwide regularly celebrate as one of the world’s most incredible castle hotels.

The exclusive use of Langley Castle located a few miles from Hadrian’s Wall and medieval Hexham, runs from midday on the day of the wedding, to 11am the following morning.  The hire cost is inclusive of the use of the nine bedrooms inside the castle, which are a delight in themselves. All feature four-poster or period beds, boast medieval architectural features and have an ambience second to none.  Some have raised window seats set into the seven-feet-thick walls, whilst others have special facilities such as a sauna and spa bath, or a walk-in wardrobe and glamorous mirror.

Langley Castle, built by a knight in 1350, is an absolutely awe-inspiring wedding venue, complete with battlements that make for amazingly dramatic wedding photography, and wooded and lawned grounds which are ideal for romantic shots.

If this alone is not enough to justify the £7000 expenditure, the offer also includes civil ceremony hire, allowing vows to be exchanged in their castle location of preference.  Other aspects of the wedding included are a red or white aisle carpet, a master of ceremonies and a cake knife and stand.

Then there is food, with a generous choice of food and drink options available for the three-course dinner that is another part of the package, accompanied by half a bottle of wine per person.

On arrival guests will be served prosecco and three canapés and a glass of prosecco is also poured for a toast to the happy couple.

The £7000, inclusive of all of these elements, is already a bargain but it is a cost that can be further reduced by charging the cost of the rooms back to guests.

On the other hand, if the couple wishes to invite more than 18 guests, they can do so at a cost of £90 per person for day-time guests, who can then enjoy both wedding breakfast and drinks.

Other options are available, such as the addition of a DJ, and menu and canapé upgrades.  A five-item evening buffet can also join the wedding-day schedule for £28 per person.

Further accommodation can  be arranged for additional guests in the Castle View area in the Langley Castle grounds, at a cost of £150 per room, inclusive of breakfast.  Sofa beds can also be added to rooms, at a charge of £50 per guest.

Langley Castle’s general manager, Mohamed Serag, says, “We are convinced this has to be the country’s most compelling castle wedding offer available to couples planning an early 2027 ceremony.  They can take over the castle with their nearest and dearest relatives and friends, live life like fairy-tale princes and princesses for a day and create memories in an absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful venue.  Why would anyone want to pay more for a wedding that could offer far less than this?”

It has a rich history, with strong links to Jacobite rebellions, is located just a stone's throw from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and boasts features including battlements, seven-feet-thick walls, window seats set into the walls and the best example of medieval garderobes in Europe. It is one of the most exquisite wedding venues in the north and also offers a wide range of options when it comes to exclusive use, with the castle being available for weddings, family celebrations, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, D&D-style events and a wide variety of corporate functions.
