British independent shoe designer, Cocorose London, has launched a new rainbow-design fashion trainer in its leather Hoxton range, to raise money for children’s mental health.
The gorgeous, low-top leather trainer, with delicate pastel rainbow digitally printed on its outer side panel, reflects the hope which the rainbow has projected throughout the pandemic.
As the mother of a toddler herself, the shoe’s designer, Janan Leo, wishes to address the impacts coronavirus has had on children, whether due to lockdown, the loss of a much-loved family member or being away from friends.
Janan has supported her customers’ mental health over the past few months with an ‘In Your Shoes’ feature, which profiles customers talking about their feelings and hopes. Now, the new rainbow trainer will assist younger minds, perhaps unable to convey their thoughts as freely.
The Hoxton Rainbow trainer comes in two colours – dove grey, to symbolise peace, or white, to convey purity. Both have a cut-out and stitched heart on the toe, to reflect love. A pillowed gold tongue, gold heel tab with the Cocorose London signature logo, gold metal eyelets and adjustable white waxed laces, all offer luxury touches.
The Hoxton Rainbow trainers, like all Cocorose Hoxtons, are super-comfortable. Thick padding under the inner sole protects the balls of the feet, pillowed Achilles heels and soft ankle opening prevent blistering and breathable leather insoles discourage perspiration. The outer is made from the softest, most pliable leather, the sole rubber and the trainers skilfully handcrafted throughout, for a true artisan feel.
The Rainbow Trainer launched in Mental Health Awareness Week priced at £120. Presented in luxurious black and gold box, it’s a perfect gift, as well as purchase. For each sale, a £20 donation will be made to a children’s mental health charity. Cocorose London wishes this to be a smaller cause, for which the donation will really make a huge difference. It is asking its loyal band of customers for suggestions.
Janan Leo says, “I have been very conscious of my own little girl’s mental health and the wellbeing of my customers and their children, during lockdown. It has been hard enough for adults, but many children will have been left questioning what is happening in the world and may well be afraid. I would love our rainbow-of-hope trainers to raise a significant amount for a children’s mental health charity that really needs support.”
The Cocorose London Rainbow Trainer can be pre-ordered, for delivery in July, at www.cocoroselondon.com Suggestions of smaller children’s mental health charities that could be supported can be sent to janan@cocoroselondon.com ENDS
