New details of the evolving Greater Sentosa Master Plan have been revealed following announcements at the Singapore Tourism Industry Conference 2026, outlining an ambitious long-term vision to transform Singapore’s southern island into a connected, landscape-led destination.
The plans, highlighted at the conference, set out proposals for expanded coastal trails, rejuvenated waterfronts, enhanced mainland connectivity and future tourism destinations across Sentosa and Pulau Brani. View video here.
Landscape architecture practice Grant Associates has played a key role in shaping the evolving landscape-led masterplan vision, in close collaboration with the Sentosa Development Corporation, alongside partners including WilkinsonEyre, WOHA and Arup.
The wider strategy forms part of Singapore’s Tourism 2040 ambitions and positions Greater Sentosa as an “Island Playground and Sanctuary in a Global City” — strengthening its role as a globally distinctive destination where tourism, ecology, mobility and public life are closely interconnected.
Working with a multi-disciplinary team of experts including WilkinsonEyre and Arup, Grant Associates led the design development of the Island Heart feasibility study, exploring how landscape, ecology and visitor experience can shape the future identity of Greater Sentosa at an island scale.
The evolving proposals include new waterfront promenades, immersive nature-based attractions, green walking trails and upgraded public spaces designed to strengthen biodiversity, improve climate resilience and expand everyday access to nature.
Improved pedestrian and transport connections between Greater Sentosa and mainland Singapore also form a central part of the long-term vision.
Andrew Grant, Founder and Director of Grant Associates, said:
“Greater Sentosa represents a rare opportunity to rethink how landscape, ecology, tourism and infrastructure can work together at an island scale.
The vision emerging for Sentosa and Pulau Brani is not simply about creating new attractions, but about shaping a more connected and immersive relationship between people, nature and the waterfront environment.
Singapore continues to demonstrate global leadership in long-term landscape-led urban thinking, and it has been exciting to contribute to that evolving story.”
The Greater Sentosa vision includes proposals for significant new attractions, hospitality destinations and event spaces, with Pulau Brani identified as a major future development area within the wider masterplan.
The project continues Grant Associates’ long-standing contribution to some of Singapore’s most significant tourism and public realm destinations over the past two decades, including the internationally acclaimed Gardens by the Bay and the recently opened Rainforest Wild Adventure.
