A Taste of Place: Luxembourg farm-to-table experiences
General Destination Imagery: HERE
April 2025 - As the modern agritourism market grows 12% yearly and is poised to reach $14.5 billion by 2029, Luxembourg emerges as a culinary destination where travellers can explore the diverse landscapes and connect with local culture and produce.
With an evolving definition of well-being and a piqued interest in authentic travel experiences, the country’s farm-to-table experiences offer visitors the opportunity to reconnect with the land. Discover the origins of food and engage in immersive practices, while accessing a different kind of knowledge: one rooted in rhythm, care and memory. Across the sunlit hills of Luxembourg’s countryside, discover vineyard-lined valleys, orchard farms and restored working farms for an insight into the handmade past and present of the country. Many of these farms also feature traditional “honesty shops”, where visitors can purchase seasonal produce and local goods directly, reflecting a culture of trust and simplicity rooted in the countryside.
Experience Luxembourg’s Culinary Traditions:
Téi vum Séi, Upper Sûre Nature Park
Located in Éislek in northern Luxembourg, Téi vum Séi offers a sensory introduction to herbal cultivation and tea-making. With a heritage of herb cultivation dating back to 1992, the region continues to produce aromatic and medicinal plants, grown and foraged locally without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Through guided tours of the production facilities, guests can learn more about the process from field to cup, discovering the care and craftsmanship behind each blend. The tour concludes with a tasting of several teas from the locally grown herbs, including lemon balm, chamomile and mint.
£ - Tours start from £74 for a 1 hour 30 minute guided experience
Ramborn Cider Haff, Born
Discover the tradition of Luxembourg’s cider-making at Ramborn Cider Haff, where a once-overlooked craft is being revived on a beautifully restored farm. Using over 100 varieties of apples, alongside pears and quince from local orchards, the estate produces a range of award-winning ciders shaped by the surrounding landscape. Join a guided tour of the cider farm and its meadow orchards, before tasting the ciders, juices and sodas on site. For a deeper connection to the land, Ramborn’s annual Harvest Weekend in September invites guests to pick apples, enjoy live music and sample local food, offering a hands-on celebration of the season.
£ - Tours start from £15 per person, including a guided cider tasting and last approximately 90 minutes. The non-alcoholic option is priced at £6
Brasserie Nationale, Bascharage
Go behind the scenes of Luxembourg’s brewing scene at the centuries-old, family brewery, Brasserie Nationale in the south-western part of the country. Guided tours take visitors through each stage of the beer-making process, from the blending of water, malt, hops and yeast to maturation, bottling and labelling. The brand-new #BrewYourOwnBeer workshop invites guests to step into the role of brewer, creating their own recipe and working alongside a master brewer at the BrauAtelier microbrewery. It’s a hands-on way to engage with the process from start to finish, before toasting to the final result. For those looking to extend the experience, the nearby Brauhotel offers a contemporary stay inspired by the world of brewing, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Luxembourg’s beer culture.
£ - The new #BrewYourOwnBeer workshop costs £1,043 for a group of 8 people lasting 7 hours
No Car? No Problem
Getting to Luxembourg’s farm-to-table experiences is refreshingly straight-forward. As the world’s first country to offer free public transport, visitors can explore the five regions without the need for a car, making slow, sustainable travel part of the experience itself.
New for Summer 2026
Beyond the culinary offering, Luxembourg stands as an ideal slow travel destination due to its extensive hiking network and green spaces. NEW for Summer 2026, the country is strengthening its outdoor offering with the new Comfort Hiking Trails, accessible routes to diversify access to nature. A new trail will open in Mondercange with panoramas over the Minett region, including glimpses of the Belval blast furnaces, a reminder of the country’s industrial heritage set against open countryside. Hikers can also stay in the region’s Kabaisercher lodges, small-scale shelters thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, offering a simple yet distinctive way to connect with nature.
