Sunlight-readable outdoor displays, bespoke menu designs and digital signage software bring two Airstream catering brands to life at Leicester’s Fosse Park.

AV specialist TVC Technology Solutions has helped TempFencing 24/7 put its catering brands in the spotlight, supplying outdoor digital menu boards and bespoke signage content for its Smash & Scoop and Mmm Churros Airstream units at Fosse Park shopping centre in Leicester.

With menus needing to stand out in bright sunshine while withstanding the demands of outdoor trading, TVC delivered a solution combining robust display technology, eye-catching creative content and flexible digital signage software.

The installation features two 32-inch outdoor digital displays, mounted in portrait orientation using custom-built brackets supplied by TempFencing. With 2,500 cd/m² brightness and anti-reflective glass, the screens keep menus clear and readable in daylight, helping customers browse the options before reaching the serving counter.

Designed for demanding outdoor environments, the displays feature IP65-rated enclosures for protection against rain and dust, toughened glass and an IK10 impact rating. Their 24/7 operating capability also supports extended trading hours.

But the project was about more than putting menus on screens. TempFencing also commissioned TVC’s Showcase package from its Digital Display Design Studio, bringing professionally designed content together with the display hardware and MySign digital signage software.

Three coordinated designs were developed to give the menus a clear visual hierarchy, combining appetising imagery, readable pricing and distinctive branding. Motion graphics add movement and visual interest, helping each of TempFencing’s individually branded Airstream units stand out while making the food and drink choices easy to explore.

The MySign platform, supplied with two licences, allows TempFencing to manage and schedule its content, making it simple to refresh menus, update prices and promote offers as requirements change.

Andy Greaves at TVC Technology Solutions commented: “We know what it takes to make outdoor digital signage work, from choosing screens that perform in bright sunshine to creating content that gets customers hungry. Whether you’re running a permanent kiosk, an Airstream or a seasonal catering unit, showing people the food you serve is a powerful way to attract attention, draw more customers to the counter and drive sales. We bring the screens, content and software together, making it straightforward for operators to turn their menus into a much more effective selling tool.”

The result is a complete digital menu solution that combines outdoor-ready hardware with tailored creative content and flexible management tools. For TempFencing 24/7, it provides a practical way to showcase two distinct catering brands, attract attention in a busy retail setting and keep menus looking fresh without relying on printed boards.
