Leading horticultural brand Hillier has launched its first-ever range of garden furniture, designed to elevate buyers’ al fresco dining experiences. With an eye on both classic comfort and 2024 home and garden trends, the two new sets of outdoor furniture mark an exciting next step for Hillier.
Those looking to add comfort and style to their gardens can choose from the Tenby or Henley ranges, which both offer a variety of furniture which can be mixed-and-matched to suit the needs and styles of any garden.
The Tenby range
No matter the size of the garden, there is a Tenby garden set to fit. The Tenby 6 Seat Garden Dining Set has a larger 150cm diameter table, featuring a handy 70cm Lazy Susan that can be detached to reveal a built-in ice bucket. The range also features the Tenby Reclining Garden Bistro Set - the cleverly designed adjustable bistro table not only serves as a surface for drinks and snacks but also adjusts to offer convenient storage space beneath its durable scratch-resistant ceramic glass top.
For larger options, there is also the Tenby Luxury Corner Garden Dining Set, which can comfortably seat eight people and can be adjusted between 46cm and 68cm. A slightly smaller, but no less impactful, choice is the Tenby Mini Corner Garden Dining Set which can seat seven people. Alternatively, the Tenby Premium Corner Garden Dining Set comes complete with two stools and a spacious recliner.
The Henley range
Combining long-lasting durability with a chic design, the Henley garden furniture set is crafted with a lightweight aluminium frame and a resilient, weatherproof rattan-effect weave. The Henley 6 Seat Garden Dining Set, which features an even more spacious 150cm diameter table.
Also featuring the same sized table is the Henley Corner Garden Dining Set, which seats eight people on its comfortable corner sofa and two padded benches. A perfect choice for a more petite garden or patio area is the Henley Garden Bistro Set, which comes complete with two chairs and a 70cm table.
Ideal for storing garden accessories, or perhaps children’s toys, the Henley Garden Storage Box is the perfect accompaniment to any range.
Furniture buyer for Hillier, Olivia Moores, said: “With 160 years in the garden industry, Hillier is well-placed to create a range of furniture for modern buyers. We’ve noticed a shift in tastes from traditional, modular designs, towards casual and comfortable yet high-quality chairs and sofas. So we devised our own range of furniture that can be grouped together in a way to suit each buyer’s needs, giving plenty of choice and flexibility, without compromising on style.”
“Most home and garden 2024 trend reports mention versatile pieces of furniture which suit many needs at once. That’s why it was so important to us when designing the Henley and Tenby ranges, that we created beautiful pieces of furniture which fill many needs for buyers. Both the Henley and Tenby sets feature curved lines with rounded edges and a flush finish, with the Tenby particularly embodying this trend.

“To inspire the creation of green living spaces for now and the future” Hillier is one of the leading names in the horticultural industry, with 160 years of growing and retail experience.
Founded in 1864 by Edwin Hillier, the company remains a family-run nursery with the fifth generation now actively involved in the family business as it continues to grow.
Not only is Hillier the largest producer of semi-mature trees in Europe and grower of over one million plants at its Hampshire nursery, but it also employs over 750 staff across its nursery, amenity trees and 22 garden centre divisions and is a flourishing multi-million pound company. It proudly holds the world record for the most consecutive gold medals awards at the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with 74 wins.
As one of the leading growers in the UK, Hillier is involved in many peat-free initiatives, including the RHS Peat-Free Fellowship, the largest peat-free collaborative research project globally. The company was amongst the first nurseries to become 100% peat-free across both its production nursery and retail garden centres, and all Hillier plants are grown in peat-free compost.
Recent successes for the company include the launch of its online shop, the substantial redevelopment of Hillier Garden Centre Newbury and the acquisition of the Rosebourne Garden Centre Group in November 2022, as well as sponsorship of BBC Gardeners’ World Live and BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair, and the incredibly popular free ‘Hillier Gardening Club’ loyalty program which now has over half a million members.
Renowned for being a leading breeder of plants in the UK at its 100% peat-free nursery in Hampshire, each year Hillier introduces amazing new varieties. Many of these have become essentials in British gardens and the company continues with the tradition of innovation and the introduction of new garden plants in the present day.
