Vestel Mobility launches the DC Vesper 40 Mobile EV charger in the UK, bringing 40 kW DC rapid charging to wherever businesses need it.
Langley, Berkshire, March, 2025: Vestel Mobility has launched the DC Vesper 40 Mobile DC Charger into the UK market, delivering a new level of agility for businesses that need fast, reliable EV charging without the cost, disruption or permanence of fixed infrastructure. Built on the same proven platform as Vestel’s fixed DC Vesper 40 charger, the mobile version combines commercial-grade performance with the site flexibility to deploy charging power where and when required.
Delivering up to 40 kW of DC output via CCS2, the DC Vesper 40 Mobile is engineered to support charging in fleet depots and service yards or car/van showrooms and forecourts where multiple fixed charging units or running permanent cables would be a cost-prohibitive or problematic. Drawing on the architecture of the fixed Vesper unit, the mobile version offers a simple three-phase connection (CEE plug/socket), intelligent power management and full OCPP back-office connectivity for monitoring, reporting and future-proof integration.
“Making the DC Vesper 40 fully mobile offers an incredibly flexible charging solution for fleets or service depots, for example,” says Sally Bailey, Head of EVC Sales at Vestel Mobility in the UK. “This brings rapid charging to anywhere in a depot, limited only by the length of a relatively inexpensive 3-phase cable, with no groundwork required. The DC Vesper Mobile is the most flexible, cost-effective, and fastest-to-deploy all-depot charging solution available. It is also more efficient than solutions using long DC charge cables from a fixed unit due to lower losses and much reduced costs of long AC cables vs long data-integrated DC cables.”
Designed for demanding commercial environments, the DC Vesper 40 Mobile provides industrial-grade protection against temperature, impact (IK10), and ingress (IP54), making it suitable for workshops, depots, service yards, and any sheltered outdoor location. Fleet operators can use the DC Vesper 40 Mobile as a shared fast-charging asset that can be moved around or even transported between sites.
In addition to fleet depots, the use cases for this new charging solution are many and varied. Car and van dealerships would gain a powerful tool for preparing vehicles on demand, supporting test drives, handovers and stock rotation without installing large banks of fixed rapid chargers. Logistics operators and service fleets can top-up vehicles returning with unexpectedly low charge without disrupting operational flow. Hotels, leisure destinations, and event venues can position charging exactly where guests park on a given day, then relocate or store the unit as demand changes.
Critically, the Vesper Mobile also opens DC fast charging to sites that are not yet ready for permanent installation. Many premises face delays due to grid reinforcement, landlord permissions, planning constraints, or groundworks disruption. By connecting the Vesper Mobile to an existing three-phase supply via a long industrial power cable, businesses gain immediate access to fast charging with dramatically lower installation costs, near-zero civil works, and deployment measured in hours rather than months.
With the UK market now entering an era where EV adoption is accelerating faster than fixed infrastructure can keep pace, the DC Vesper 40 Mobile offers a bridge between early adoption and long-term network build-out. It allows businesses to support EV drivers immediately, trial DC charging behaviour before committing to permanent installations, and then scale their charging strategy in step with operational reality.
The UK launch of the DC Vesper 40 Mobile charger marks another expansion of Vestel Mobility’s commercial charging portfolio, complementing its established AC and high-output fixed DC platforms with a new class of flexible, high-power deployment. It gives fleets, facilities managers, property owners and service operators a powerful new tool to meet the demands of electrification with speed, control and confidence.
