With the 39th annual GIMA Awards less than a week away (July 4th, Celtic Manor), final preparations are now underway for what is set to be another glittering night of celebrations and networking. Each year the awards are kindly supported by a number of industry brands and organisations, together helping the awards to be one of the most popular events in the garden retail calendar. This year, more brands than ever have come forward to show their support for the event through a range of sponsorship opportunities.

Glee – the leading trade exhibition for the garden retail sector – has been confirmed as the headline sponsor for what is set to be another exciting evening celebrating the best the industry has to offer.

Matthew Mein, Glee Event Director said: “We’re so pleased to confirm our ongoing sponsorship of the GIMA Awards. Each year, the awards celebrate the amazing innovation, dedication and teamwork that makes the garden retail industry one of the most varied and exciting markets there is, something that we work to also celebrate each year at Glee. With such a similar ethos underpinning our work, aligning ourselves with the GIMA Awards is an easy decision to make. Best of luck to all those shortlisted – we look forward to seeing who takes home the awards in a few short weeks.”

The annual gala dinner is also being sponsored by a number of other garden industry companies, including Bord na Mona, who have generously sponsored the table drinks, whilst the fun table raffle – with a Sonos Smart speaker up for grabs - has been kindly sponsored by the team at Hozelock. Attendees can also enjoy a pre-dinner drink at a special reception sponsored by Evergreen Garden Care and Smart Garden Products.

Those not lucky enough to scoop the table prize will have another chance to win, thanks to the More People sponsored main raffle, which will offer an iPad and John Lewis vouchers as prizes. Diners will also sit at beautifully decorated tables by La Hacienda and Kelkay, and enjoy the Glee sponsored main event consisting of a three-course meal, entertainment and the awards themselves, hosted by Vernon Kay. All proceeds raised on the night will be donated to Greenfingers, GIMA’s chosen charity for 2019.

Some award categories also enjoy individual sponsors, including Decco sponsoring the Garden Care category, and the HTA will show its support for the Plants, Seeds & Bulbs award. The Export Achievement Award will once again be sponsored by Gardenex, whilst the Garden Centre Association will sponsor the Supplier of the Year. Award winners will also receive champagne delivered to their tables by Hornby Whitefoot PR, whilst the marketing for the event is sponsored by CM Ventures.

Garden Trade News, GTN Xtra, Gardenforum and Garden Centre Update are all confirmed as media partners of the 2019 event.

GIMA director, Vicky Nuttall, said: “As always our thanks go to all our sponsors for their continued support. The event is nothing without your support, and I know that the attendees at this year’s event will greatly appreciate the effort of all sponsors. This year’s event is set to be another exciting night, and we look forward to sharing with all those attending the winners of this year’s awards. See you all there!”
