Langley Castle Shows its Bubble Can’t be Burst as it Plans Domes’ Arrival

Northumberland-based castle, Langley Castle, is not allowing even the latest Covid-19 news to burst its bubble, as it dynamically plans for the future and an early January arrival of ‘Bubble Domes’, to cocoon its castle-loving visitors.

The castle, dating from 1350 and located in Langley-on-Tyne, a short drive from Hexham, will be juxtaposing the contemporary with the medieval, as four transparent chill-out domes are located around the castle perimeter.  These will be venues for regular castle treat times, such as afternoon teas, and retreats for private-hire celebrations.

And, as a promise to those missing their Christmas dinner this year, Langley has committed to serve up Christmas, inside a dome, as soon as this is allowed, for anyone wishing to play catch-up and have Christmas in January – or even June, if it takes that long!

Langley Castle’s Bubble Domes will allow users to enjoy superb views of Langley’s imposing structure and splendid wooded and lawned grounds, from within a safe, private, transparent ‘oasis’. The castle, which has prided itself on being equipped with all the defences visitors require, is now offering these private havens, in a unique take on social distancing.

“Our new heated and lit domes will appeal to romantics wishing to enjoy time together under Northumberland’s dramatic dark skies, to those loving to indulge in few bottles of Prosecco with whichever ‘bubble’ they are allowed to meet and to anyone adoring escapism and the thought of hours whiled away inside a dome with a castle view,” says Langley Castle’s executive general manager, Margaret Livingstone-Evans.

“They will also be available for birthday and anniversary celebrations, special occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, for private dining with a true celebrity touch, and for events arranged to a theme.  This will provide a unique experience, not just in Northumberland, but anywhere in the UK.  Where else can you gaze at a 670-year-old castle from within a 21st century dome?”

Couples enjoying Langley Castle’s hugely popular weddings for two will also be able to have some of their celebration inside a dome, making things even more profound for couples who love the intimacy of such a small wedding.

Personalisation will also be key to this unique experience, with Langley promising to do its utmost to fit privately hired domes out with whatever will make the occasion special.  As it says, “there really will be no place like a Langley dome.”

Bookings are already being taken for what could be the ‘must-do’ of 2021, so call 01434 688888 to make your reservation.  More information about the fortified castle hotel, and its innovative approaches to celebrations, weddings and special events, can be found at www.langleycastle.co.uk
