For those with larger lawns to tend to, the thought of mowing can be a daunting one that is often thought of as being inconvenient, time-consuming or something where someone else is needed to lend a helping hand. That is why ride-on lawnmowers have become the machine of choice for so many people in recent years, but have often come with a hefty price tag that even the greatest lawn fanatic may wince at.
Understanding the need for a more affordable option that still features the efficiencies and capabilities of other machines, the UK’s leading powered lawnmower brand has launched a new range of ride-on mowers.
For spring 2023, Cobra is introducing eight petrol-powered ride-on models, aimed at helping those with larger lawns to mow with ease and comfort, at an affordable and competitive price. This comes as the brand is celebrating its 10th birthday, bolstering its position as a leading brand in the marketplace, and is perhaps Cobra’s biggest innovation yet.
The benefits of the ride-on mowers extend beyond the price tag as Cobra has truly considered and explored what gardeners are looking for. As such, comfort and manoeuvrability have been at the forefront of the design, as well as a variety of cutting widths to help reduce mowing time.
Recognising the need in the UK market for models suited for larger gardens where a push mower isn’t quite enough but a larger ride-on tractor is too big, the range starts with two rider models. These have a particular focus on manoeuvrability, allowing gardeners to flow and mow around the gardens, taking into account garden beds, curved edges and obstacles such as trees, patios and planting schemes as well as any other intricacies that make UK gardens so unique.
The two compact LT62 rider models each have a 24” cutting width and comfortable seat. Being smaller, these models have great manoeuvrability and a 75cm turning radius, so work well around garden beds, slopped areas and trickier terrain. The LT62 is available with either manual or hydrostatic automatic gear change transmission, with the latter offering smoother usage and even greater manoeuvrability.
For those with vast areas to mow, there are six ride-on tractors available. With cutting widths ranging from 33” up to 42”, and choices again being manual and hydrostatic gear changing, as well as a twin cutting blade and the option to collect the cuttings, release them back to the ground or turn them to mulch. They also offer enhanced comfort with a padded seat and easy electric key starting.
Cobra is in a unique position in the market and is able to tap into the insight and experience of its network of 1,500 garden machinery dealers across the country to find out exactly what customers and gardeners are looking for. It can then use this information to expand its range so that all new products introduced, like the new ride-on models, are expertly based exactly on the needs of UK gardeners.
