The launch of Scotland’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in August 2023 will herald a new phase for waste management in the country. With the opening of its Scottish office, Reconomy Group company Reverse Logistics Group (RLG) – which was chosen by Circularity Scotland as the preferred implementation partner – is offering an exciting opportunity for dynamic leaders in the sector.

Patrick Wiedemann, Divisional CEO of Reconomy Group’s Comply Division and CEO of RLG, described the move as fundamental to the company’s approach, saying: “RLG’s expertise has already resulted in a track record of rolling out complex systems around the world. While we operate as a global business, a keystone of our strategy is to build first-class local teams which maintain a level of autonomy. In Scotland, we now have tremendous opportunities for excellent leaders who are keen to shape the new business.”

RLG is looking to fill two key roles – Service Delivery Lead and Support Team Lead. Both posts are likely to appeal to leaders from the retail sector with an entrepreneurial flare and ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality.

Paul Cox, Reconomy Group CEO, said: “The arrival of DRS is a transformative innovation in UK waste management, and Scotland is spearheading the change. This project will directly contribute to our Reconomy Group purpose of creating a truly sustainable world through conserving finite resources, and I am looking forward to seeing our new team drive this ground-breaking approach.”

Service Delivery Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for high quality service delivery, performance and client relationships, while the Support Team Lead is a senior management role responsible for the design and implementation of the customer support strategy.

Both positions will be based in Scotland, with a requirement to regularly travel to Glasgow, and come with an attractive package. For full job descriptions, please email recruitment@reconomy.com.

Scotland will launch the Deposit Return Scheme on 16th August 2023. It will be the first scheme in the UK to launch.
