The Store wins big again at The World Gin Awards 2025 ahead of World Gin Day.
Just in time for World Gin Day on Saturday 14th June, The Store – Oxford’s newest luxury hotel – is proud to announce that its signature London Dry Gin has been awarded World’s Best London Dry Gin at the prestigious World Gin Awards 2025.
This global recognition follows The Store’s earlier triumph in May, when the same gin was named Best in Country for England, marking a remarkable double win in its debut year.
Crafted in collaboration with the award-winning Hawkridge Distillers, The Store’s London Dry Gin is a bold, refined spirit created exclusively for the hotel. Developed to complement The Store’s unique luxury experience, the gin is a cornerstone of its curated beverage offering.
Judges from the World Gin Awards – a panel of expert distillers, industry professionals, and seasoned gin enthusiasts – praised The Store’s gin as:
“A gin that presents a delightful journey on the palate, starting with prominent juniper and a hint of sweetness, transitioning into a lovely dry style complemented by subtle chilli notes. It is refreshing, featuring coriander and woody herbs, alongside some bitter tones. Rounded and well-balanced."
The award was presented to The Store and Hawkridge Distillers at a glittering ceremony in London.
Simon Drake, General Manager of The Store, commented:
“We are beyond thrilled to receive these two incredible honours from the spirit industry’s most respected global awards. Our London Dry Gin has been blended with passion, curiosity, and impeccable flavour in partnership with Hawkridge Distillers. Our guests adore it – and now, it’s time for the rest of the world to discover it too.”
The Store’s London Dry Gin is the anchor of a bespoke spirits collection developed exclusively for the hotel, designed to elevate the guest experience and reflect The Store’s values of quality, creativity, and local collaboration.
James Gurney, co-founder of Hawkridge Distillers, added:
“This award is testament to what can be achieved when craftsmanship, creativity and a shared vision come together. Working with The Store has allowed us to create a truly distinctive gin that not only stands out on the world stage but tells a story rooted in place and personality.”
Guests can sample The Store’s London Dry Gin in a selection of signature serves, including the hotel’s celebrated ‘Oxford Garden Party’ cocktail – a refreshing blend of The Store Gin, St Germain, rhubarb and ginger syrup, lemon juice, raspberries and egg white – alongside timeless classics like the Gin Martini and Negroni.
Simon Drake concluded:
“At The Store, we believe modern luxury is about depth, authenticity, and storytelling. Our globally award-winning gin delivers all three.”
The Store’s London Dry Gin is available exclusively on-site at The Store, Oxford – whether sipped in the Rooftop Bar or enjoyed as part of a signature house cocktail.
