LONDON, 9th March 2022: Global digital transformation consultancy Kin + Carta has announced its expansion in two UK cities with a new office in Edinburgh and a team based out of Bristol, as it continues its commitment to investing in the UK Public Sector and tech talent.

The opening of the new Edinburgh office on Princes Street is just the latest chapter in the business’s long-standing relationship with the Scottish capital, which started at the dawn of the digital age in an internet cafe. It is set to be an international hub for Kin + Carta, with direct flight paths to Chicago, where its Americas central office is located, as well as being accessible to all other UK offices.

Edinburgh is also now considered the data capital of Europe, supporting a key offering of Kin + Carta. This comes from its deep talent pool in this space, the tech startups springing up in the shadow of Arthur's Seat, and the innovative technology being developed in the city – a factor which will be hugely beneficial for Kin + Carta’s clients.

Edinburgh native and Group CEO of Europe, David Tuck, commented: “Edinburgh is key for our long-term growth. We have a number of our leaders who call the city home, including our Public Sector Client Lead, Director of Managed Services, Head of Mobile, and our Chairman, so building out our offering here made perfect sense.

“We want this new hub to be a destination for our people, for innovation and for building a world that works better for everyone. And to have that happening in my home city is personally very exciting.”

As part of its B Corp accreditation and commitment to being a responsible business, building materials for the Edinburgh office were sustainably sourced and where possible, existing equipment and furniture were used. Additionally, in a show of support for local businesses, Edinburgh fitters and tradespeople were used during the fitting process. Kin + Carta also donated furniture and equipment from its old office in Leith to local schools and charities.

Meanwhile, Kin + Carta’s new Bristol hub is looking to tap into the local talent pool of the city — in particular when it comes to the public sector. The hometown of Banksy was chosen due to its strong public sector heritage, with the digital transformation consultancy looking to build a market-leading team.

The introduction of the Bristol-based team comes off the back of Kin + Carta being named The Planning Inspectorate‘s Cloud Software Engineering Partner of choice, a continuation of the relationship that started in January 2022. Together they’re creating a new end-to-end digital solution to improve the department’s user experience on their most important services.

Emma Charles, Director of Public Sector Delivery at Kin + Carta, commented: “The introduction of our Bristol team shows a real commitment to the country’s public sector. We are building a market-leading team by hiring industry experts and pairing them with our best and brightest. And some of the best public sector talent around is in Bristol.

“Kin + Carta is now active on most of the UK government and Scottish government frameworks, and recent wins in the sector demonstrate that we are building a reputation of excellence for this work. It’s an exciting time for the business.”
