Grab a ticket for an event that will create goosebumps and allow you to view the world’s oldest topiary garden in a way only the select few have done, by securing your pass to Cumbrian-based Levens Hall and Gardens’ wondrous Winter Event.
From December 8 to December 12, ticketholders have the opportunity to visit the Hall and Gardens out of season, and see its centuries-old topiary and stunning Elizabethan hall illuminated and bathed in a varying hue of colours.
With many of the topiary pieces having had their loving out-of-season trim by that time, they are at their sharpest for those observing them in this unique way and assume a completely different identity and personality.
As well as seeing over 100 pieces of topiary enjoying this incredible re-imagining, visitors can also enjoy live music and browse an array of craft items and local food and drink delights, in a huge marquee that will be home to a covered Christmas market.
Heading inside Levens Hall, they can then enjoy the sight of its stunning interiors adorned with festive decorations and tour the downstairs rooms, to see exquisite ceilings and stained glass, items once belonging to the Duke of Wellington, incredible pieces of furniture and exquisitely carved fireplaces and mantles, as well as many other things.
Tickets must be bought in advance and cost £12 for an adult, £6 child (aged 5-16) and £33 for a family (two adults and up to three children aged 5-16). It is essential to book a free car park ticket when purchasing admission tickets, to park on-site.
Each evening of the event, the opening hours are 4pm to 8pm and visitors can warm up after their time in the gardens with refreshments or food served in Levens Kitchen.
Head to www.levenshall.co.uk to secure your tickets and prepare to be enthralled by this wondrous winter event.
