TVC has completed a fully integrated audiovisual project for Mega City Slough, creating an immersive entertainment environment for one of the UK's largest family leisure destinations.

TVC Technology Solutions has completed a comprehensive audiovisual and entertainment technology solution for Mega City Slough. This brand-new multi-floor multi-entertainment venue is an £11 million indoor complex featuring bowling lanes, a large arcade, laser tag, virtual reality arenas, and a restaurant-bar.

TVC took on the task of supporting the venue with integrated digital signage, hospitality television, zoned audio, AV distribution and private karaoke experiences across all three floors. Fully installed, commissioned, tested and employees trained before the venue’s grand opening, Mega City Slough is another flagship commercial entertainment AV install for TVC, alongside the likes of F1 Gaming Arcades and flagship Hollywood Bowl venues.

Commenting on the installation, Mat Brown, Co-Founder and Director, TVC Technology Solutions, said: “The Mega City Slough installation really demonstrates how a centrally managed AV platform can enhance customer engagement seamlessly across multiple experiences, areas and floors within this complex venue. Our integration has been designed to streamline venue operations and provide the flexibility required for growth within a modern entertainment destination.”

Bringing together arcade gaming, bowling, virtual reality, AR darts, laser quest, batting cages, clay shooting, pool and private karaoke rooms under one roof, Mega City required more than a collection of standalone screens and speakers. The venue needed a connected technology infrastructure capable of supporting diverse attractions while delivering a consistent customer experience throughout the building.

TVC was appointed to design and deliver a fully integrated solution that would allow content, audio and entertainment systems to operate seamlessly across multiple zones. The brief focused on creating a platform that was simple for employees to manage day-to-day while providing the scalability needed to support future developments within the Mega City concept.

To strengthen customer communication and promotional activity throughout the venue, TVC installed iiyama ProLite commercial signage displays, in 55-inch, 43-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, positioned across bars and key customer facing areas. The displays provide a high-impact platform dedicated for food and beverage promotions, attraction packages, event information and venue messaging. Operating independently from the entertainment screens, content can be updated centrally without interrupting live television or attraction-related content.

Alongside the signage network, TVC deployed LG hospitality televisions throughout the venue. The displays support live sport, entertainment and attraction information across bars, seating areas, activity zones and communal spaces. By allowing content to be synchronised venue-wide or assigned individually by area, the system gives employees the flexibility to tailor the customer experience throughout the day.

At the heart of the installation is a WyreStorm NXT AV-over-IP distribution platform, enabling television and media sources to be routed to individual displays or shared across the entire venue. Additional source capacity has also been incorporated, allowing Mega City to introduce new content streams and entertainment experiences without requiring significant infrastructure changes.

A key feature of the project is the creation of seven dedicated private karaoke rooms. Every room features a 55-inch Mitchell & Brown display screen, Singa Karaoke platform, professional audio system and dedicated microphones, creating a premium entertainment environment for private parties and group bookings. The rooms are fully integrated into the wider AV infrastructure, allowing background music, paging and venue announcements to be delivered when required.

To complement the venue's attractions, TVC also delivered a fully zoned audio solution spanning bowling lanes, arcade areas, bars, social spaces and Laser Quest. Using a combination of commercial loudspeakers, subwoofers and centralised processing, each area can maintain its own atmosphere while remaining connected to the wider venue communications network. Local wall controllers and paging stations provide employees with straightforward control over volume levels, source selection and announcements.

"Mega City is exactly the type of project where integrated AV can make a significant impact. The venue brings together a huge variety of attractions, each with its own requirements, but everything needs to feel connected for both customers and staff alike.” Commented Mat.

“By bringing digital signage, hospitality displays, audio, distribution and karaoke together within one managed platform, we've created a solution that delivers a great customer experience today while providing the flexibility to support future growth."

With the venue now fully operational, Mega City Slough is another successful milestone in TVC’s growing list of major entertainment and hospitality AV projects.
