10 years, new investment, bigger impact: ICP scales up to tackle UK’s energy infrastructure bottlenecks
Sinewave, the world’s only B Corp certified independent connection provider (ICP), is marking its 10th anniversary with a major expansion that will help break down barriers to the UK’s net zero transition. The company has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) solutions business, bringing together the full value chain of its EV charging expertise into a single turnkey offering.
The new venture, Amplify, offers fleets, local authorities, public transport providers and charge point operators (CPOs) a one-stop-shop to design, implement and support every stage of EV charging infrastructure – from initial grid connection to final commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
“There’s a lot of talk about what needs to happen to reach net zero, but the reality is that the UK faces real delivery bottlenecks,” said Stuart Douglas, Amplify co-founder and COO. “By uniting our skills and services under one new, highly focused business, we’re removing complexity, reducing project risk and helping our customers roll out EV infrastructure faster.”
The launch comes alongside new investment from Three Hills, through its sustainability-focused strategy – Three Hills Impact, enabling Sinewave to accelerate innovation and scale up its services. This funding will help it address some of the UK’s most pressing energy infrastructure challenges – from integrating renewable energy generation, to delivering the high-capacity connections that power data centres and national EV charging networks.
“As the UK races to meet its net zero goals, Sinewave is turning talk into action and positioning itself as a key delivery partner to help industry, government and public service providers turn ambition into reality,” said Sinewave CEO Adam Woodley. “With a track record in projects up to 400kV (kilovolts), and the ability to connect renewable energy, EV charging networks and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, we’re poised to help shape the future of the UK’s energy landscape.”
Founded in 2015, Sinewave has achieved a decade of sustainable, self-funded growth while staying true to its values of safety, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Certified as a B Corp since 2019, the company meets rigorous social and environmental standards, and has earned multiple industry accreditations. It is now recognised as a Sunday Times fastest-growing company, and in 2022 received the Lloyds Bank Sustainable Business of the Year award.
