How to look after School Shoes!

Published:
Read Time: 1 min

Priding themselves on their shoes being outgrown, and never outworn, the team at Start-Rite have drawn on a wealth of knowledge to equip parents with tips and tricks to ensure their children's school shoes stay in the best condition possible while they are put to the ultimate test during busy school days.

Follow these simple rules to get the most from your shoes:

Protect leather shoes from splashes and stains using spray protectors

Dry school shoes carefully – fill wet shoes with crumpled paper and allow to dry naturally

Never dry school shoes on a radiator or by the fire as this can damage the leather

Remove mud and grit whenever possible – this will prevent build up and increase the shoe’s lifespan

Clean and polish regularly to keep the leather supple and protect from scratches

Encourage your child to take off their shoes properly ie don’t pull off at the heel with the other foot. This will help keep their shape and last longer
