Dufftown, 20 May, 2021: This morning, the first local business under Truerlein Ltd’s Dufftown: a New Dawn regeneration project has opened its doors. The Lunchbox Dufftown, which closed during the lockdown period in 2020, is launching with a new menu which offers the best of local, fresh produce and some special homemade treats devised by new supervisor, Caroline Adamson.
Designed to offer a much-needed option to early-morning travellers, shift workers and commuters driving through Dufftown, The Lunchbox will open from 6.30am Monday to Friday and from 7am on Saturdays. Over the coming weeks, a pre-ordering facility will also be added to The Lunchbox’s Facebook page and website, allowing fast and easy collection for those passing through on their way to work.
Mhairi-ann Gallicker, Director at Truerlein commented: “We’re delighted to open the first of a number of complementary businesses, designed to offer members of the community and visitors more amenities in Dufftown. With Caroline and the rest of our fantastic team’s help, we’re looking forward to offering a range of options to suit all tastes, whether you need to grab a coffee and breakfast on your drive to work, cater a group lunch or grab something sweet for your afternoon tea.”
As well as offering a number of homemade cakes, quiches and local recipes, The Lunchbox has partnered with Dufftown-based Lettoch Farm Coffee Company to offer customers a bespoke blend of its best-selling beans to create a rich, full-bodied coffee with notes of chocolate, caramel and a hint of nut. “We have some of the finest ingredients and suppliers practically on our doorstep so it makes perfect sense to support other local businesses and showcase their products to our customers,” continued Mhairi-ann. “Many people have strong feelings about their coffee so we wanted to ensure that The Lunchbox had something special and unique to Dufftown that would keep them coming back.”
A core part of Truerlein’s business model is to create thriving businesses that ultimately give local entrepreneurs a low-risk path to owning their own business and The Lunchbox is the first to follow this model. As a Truerlein business establishes itself as a strong and profitable local enterprise, over the coming years, Truerlein will gift ownership of shares in the business until 49% of the business is owned by the senior management. At a mutually-agreed time, they will then be offered the opportunity to purchase the remaining 51%, allowing them to take their business forward independently.
